MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING <br />« LA FORTE CITY COIINCIL <br />- July 13th,1936, 8 o'clock P.M. ~~, <br />Meeting was .called to order by Mayor Sharp with the following Aldermen <br />responding to roll call: <br />C.M.Agee, F.R.Boyle and ~'x~ed Ruff. <br />Minutes of the last meeting were read and approved. <br />Bills <br />The following bills were allowed; Houston ~,~ghting ~ Power, X158.88, <br />So•W.Bell Tel.Co.~6.85, News Pub.Co.~25•75, La Porte Hardw.Co.~19.07, <br />Magnolia Petr. Co. $3.23, Pfeiffer Elec. Co, $10,•15, Workman & Arthur <br />X18.80, La Porte Lbr. Co $1.90, C.O.ti"7ille.ams X7.75, Petty Cash A~C $17.80, <br />Fire Dept.(school) ~70~00• Motion on allowing bills, by Ald. Boyle, <br />second by Ald. Ruff. Carried <br />Ba1.Fire Ins.- SeammYen of $50.00 <br />Motion by A1d. Boyle, second by Ald. Ruff that the balance due A.T. <br />Sdammen on Fire Insurance policies be paid on or about July 21st, <br />out of the General Fund. Carried. <br />'+"arrant- Learned & Tapp <br />-- Motion by Ald. Age®, second by Ald. Ruff that the Mayor and City Sec- <br />retary be authorized to issue a warrant to Learn®d do Tapp for the sum <br />of X120.09 to be applied on their account of X150.00 and which is to <br />be returned to the City as payment of taxes on Lots 15 to 18,inclusi~e, <br />Block 21.x., Bay Front, Town of La Porte, v~dlich lots Mr T.J.Tapp is con- <br />tracting to purchase from. the City of La yorte• P~4otion also included the <br />folloo~ing resolution "Be it resolTed that the City of La torte ac- <br />]mowledge receipt of a sufficient consideration paid by Thomas J.Tapp; <br />and the Mayor of the City of La torte and the City Secretary are hereby <br />authorized to convey to Thomas J.Tapp, Lots numbered Fifteen(15), Six- <br />teen(16), Se~-enteen(17) and Eighteen(18) in Block numbered Twenty-Four(21~.) <br />of Bay Front Addition to the said Town of La Torte, in Harris County, <br />Texas, releasing and gait-claiming any interest that the City of La Porte <br />may hake in and to said lots purchased by it at Sheriff's 'sale on the° <br />1.~th day of December,1923, to be executed in the name of the City of <br />La Torte by George H.Sharp, bZayor and attested by the City Secretary." <br />Carried. <br />Int.Coupons-Refunding ~~~ar. due July 10th. <br />Motion by Ald. Boyle, second by Ald. Ruff that the Mayor and City Sec- <br />retary be aut?:~orized to draw a warrant from the Int.~C Sinkg.Warrant Fund <br />for payment of Interest Coupons on City of La rar~te Refunding Warrants <br />due July lOth,1936, warrant to forwarded to l~nufacturers Trust Co,New York <br />where Coupons are payable.
