Carlos Smith, and Supt. of Streets <br />Lyman Cunningham. <br />PRESIDING: Mayor Pfeiffer <br />+ + + <br />9. Minutes of the regular meeting of A!.~gust 95, 9966, and the special <br />meeting of August 24, 9966, were approved as written. <br />+ + + <br />2. A delegation representing the residents on Vtrginia Street <br />' appeared before the Commission inquiring about the drainage <br />problem on 1/irginia Street and the adjacent side streets. The <br />City Engineer was requested to re-check the grades of the ditches. <br />+ + + <br />3. Eugene Hovey, C.P.A., presented a review of the 9965-66 Audit <br />Report. <br />The Commission received the audit and advtsed Mr. Hovey that <br />they may have further questions after they have studied the report. <br />+ + + <br />4. Mr. George Riley stated that there is a serious problem at the <br />Negro Cemetery located in Block 685, Town of La Porte. He <br />stated that upon checking they find that an undetermined number <br />of bodies are buried in the street right-a-way. <br />H. Carlos Smith offered his servtces to survey the cemetery <br />and locate the exact corner points. <br />The City Attorney was authorized to brief the laws on relocating <br />graves and make a recommendation. <br />~~ + + + <br /> <br /> <br />
