A Public Hearing was }zeld before the Planning and <br />Zoning Commission and the City Commission to consider, <br />1) zoning of areas 1, 2, 3, and 11 in Fairmont Park <br />?_) rezoning of approximately 34.74 acre tract of land, <br />bounded by the South lines of West "M" Street on the <br />North; by Little Cedar Bayou on the East; by the North <br />line of `vJest "0" Street on the South; and by a south- <br />erly projection of the center line of the alley in <br />Block 1150, TOWN of LA PORTS, on t}le Wast and owned <br />by the Wharton i~ieems Estate, from Residential to <br />Commercial. <br />The Public Hearing was opened by Mayor Smith who <br />stated that all proponents would speak_ first, then <br />all opponents would speak secondly. <br />A brief discussion was held on the locations of the <br />areas in Fairmont Park being zoned and the purpose <br />for the zoning. Mrs. Compton stated the zoning action <br />was necessary because Fairmont Park was annexed by <br />La Porte. <br />r <br />
