• • <br />MINUTES <br />OF THE <br />REGULAR MEETING AND PUBLIC HEARING <br />OF THE <br />LA PORTS CITY COUNCIL <br />JULY 21, 1982 <br />1. The meeting was called to order by Mayor Cline at 7:00 P.M. <br />Members of the City Council Present: Mayor Virginia Cline, <br />Councilpersons Norman Malone, John Longley, Edward Matuszak, <br />Kevin Graves, Lindsay Pfeiffer, Deotis Gay, B. Don Skelton, <br />Linda Westergren <br />Members of the City Council Absent: None <br />Members of the City Staff Present: City Manager Jack Owen, <br />City Secretary Betty Waters, City Attorney Knox Askins, <br />Graduate Engineer John Joerns, Parks & Recreation Director <br />Stan Sherwood, Director of Administrative Services Robert <br />Herrera, Fire Chief Joe Sease, Director of Public Works <br />Jerry Hodge <br />Others Present: Dick Bell, Bayshore Sun; Frieda Beaty, <br />Baytown Sun; Jeff Patterson, Southeast Weekly; Ellen Stover, <br />La Porte Broadcaster; 26 interested citizens <br />2. The invocation was given by Councilperson Skelton. <br />3. The Council consdiered the minutes of the Regular Meeting of <br />the La Porte City Council held July 7, 1982. <br />A motion was made by Councilperson Longley to approve and <br />adopt the minutes as presented. Second by Councilperson <br />Malone. The motion carried, 9 ayes and 0 nays. <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Westergren, Skelton, Gay, Pfeiffer, <br />Graves, Matuszak, Longley, Malone and Mayor Cline <br />Nays: None <br />4. Mayor Cline opened a public hearing to hear citizen recom- <br />mendations for the use of General Revenue Sharing Funds for <br />fiscal year 1982-83. City Manager Jack Owen stated the anti- <br />cipated amount of $384,653.61 would be budgeted for fiscal <br />• year 82-83. <br />
