The meeting was called to order by Mayor Malone at 6:05 P.M. <br /> <br />Members of City Council Present: Mayor Norman Malone, <br />Councilpersons Guy Sutherland, Mike Cooper, Bob Thrower, Bob <br />McLaughlin, Alton Porter, Deotis Gay, Jack Maxwell, Jerry <br />Clarke <br /> <br />Members of City Council Absent: None <br /> <br />Members of City Staff Present: ci ty Manager Bob Herrera, City <br />Attorney Knox ASkins, City Secretary Cherie Black, Assistant <br />City Manager John Joerns, Police Chief Bobby Powell, Human <br />Resources/Purchasing Manager Louis Rigby, Director of Parks <br />and Recreation Stan Sherwood, Fire Chief Joe Sease, Finance <br />Director Jeff Litchfield, Finance officer Linda Stubbs, <br />Building Inspector Mark Lewis, Parks Superintendent Bert <br />Clark, Recreation Superintendent Tim O'Connor, Athletic <br />Coordinator David Hyde, Golf Pro Alex Osmond, EMS Chief Chris <br />Osten, Accounting Supervisor Kathy Hutton <br /> <br />Others Present: Shirley Mosely; J. The invocation was given by City Attorney Knox Askins. <br /> <br />3. Council considered approving the minutes of the Council <br />meeting held June 22, 1992. <br /> <br />Motion was made bv Counciloerson Clarke to aoorove the June 22 <br />minutes as presented. Second by Councilperson Thrower. The <br />motion carried, 8 ayes, 0 nays, 1 abstain. <br /> <br />Ayes: Councilperson Cooper, Thrower, McLaughlin, Porter, <br />Gay, Maxwell, Clarke and Mayor Malone <br />Nays: None <br /> <br />Abstain: Councilperson Sutherland <br /> <br />4. Mayor Malone. presented Shirley Mosely as Employee of the <br />Quarter for January, February and March 1992. Finance <br />Director Jeff Litchfield presented Shirley with a plaque. <br /> <br />5. The Mayor proclaimed July 13 as Alex Osmond and Chuck Berry <br />Day, and presented a proclamation to David Darby, DARE Officer <br />of the Year for Texas. <br />
