• 0 <br />1. <br />2. <br />ov <br />4. <br />MINUTES OF THE PUBLIC HEARINGS AND REGULAR MEETING <br />LA PORTE CITY COUNCIL <br />FEBRUARY 22, 1993 <br />The meeting was called to order by Mayor Malone at 6:00 P.M. <br />Members of City Council Present: Mayor Norman Malone, <br />Councilpersons Guy Sutherland, Mike Cooper, Bob Thrower, Bob <br />McLaughlin, Alton Porter, Deotis Gay, Jack Maxwell, Jerry <br />Clarke <br />Members of City Council Absent: None <br />Members of City Staff Present: City Manager Bob Herrera, City <br />Attorney Knox Askins, City Secretary Cherie Black, Director of <br />Administrative Services Louis Rigby, Planning Director Chuck <br />Harrington, Police Chief Bobby Powell, Finance Director Jeff <br />Litchfield, City Engineer Fred Thompson, Municipal Court Judge <br />J. B. Williamson <br />Others Present: Dick Hays and Jerry Dennis, La Porte ISD; <br />Henry Blair, Stone Castle Industries; Patton Caldwell, Houston <br />Shell & Concrete; six citizens <br />The invocation was given by Councilperson Gay. <br />Council considered approving the minutes of the regular <br />meeting of Council held February 9, 1993. <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Sutherland to approve the <br />February 9 minutes as presented. Second by Councilperson <br />Thrower. The motion carried, 9 ayes and 0 nays. <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Sutherland, Cooper, Thrower, <br />McLaughlin, Porter, Gay, Maxwell, Clarke and Mayor <br />Malone <br />Nays: None <br />Mr. Lee Huebel, Southeast Texas Housing Finance Corporation <br />addressed Council to briefly describe the programs carried out <br />by SETH. He distributed a detailed booklet to Council. <br />Mr. Richard Hays, La Porte ISD Superintendent of Schools, <br />addressed Council to voice his support of the juvenile curfew <br />ordinance. <br />5. Public Hearings <br />A. Mayor Malone opened public hearing A at 6:12 P.M. This <br />was the request of Stone Castle Industries for a special <br />conditional use permit for 205 North filth Street to allow <br />
