BRENT McCAULLEY, CHAIR <br />COUNCILPERSON AT LARGE B <br />CHUCK ENGELKEN <br />COUNCILPERSON <br />BILL BENTLEY <br />COUNCILPERSON <br />CORBY ALEXANDER <br />CITY MANAGER <br />RAY MAYO <br />PUBLIC WORKS DIRECTOR <br />TIM MILLER <br />PARKS AND RECREATION DIRECTOR <br />MINUTES OF THE LA PORTE COMMUNITY FENCING <br />AD HOC COMMITTEE MEETING <br />MAY 8, 2023 <br />The La Porte Community Fencing Ad Hoc Committee of the City of La Porte met on <br />Monday, May 8, 2023, at the City Hall Council Chambers, 604 West Fairmont Parkway, La <br />Porte, Texas, at 4:30 p.m. to consider the following items of business: <br />Committee Members present: Councilperson Brent McCaulley; Mayor Pro Tern Chuck <br />Engelken, Councilpersons Bill Bentley, City Manager Corby <br />Alexander, Public Works Director Ray Mayo, Parks and <br />Recreation Director Tim Miller <br />Committee Members attending remotely: None <br />Committee Members absent: None <br />Council -appointed officers present: Corby Alexander, City Manager; Lee Woodward, City <br />Secretary; Clark T. Askins, Assistant City Attorney <br />CALL TO ORDER —.Chair McCaulley called the meeting to order at 4.30 p.m. <br />2. CITIZEN COMMENT (Generally limited to five minutes per person, in accordance with state <br />law, the time may be reduced if there is a high number of speakers or other considerations.) <br />There were no citizen comments. <br />3. STATUTORY AGENDA The purpose of this meeting is to discuss and formulate City Council <br />and staff plans, operations, policies, and/or future projects, including the following: <br />a. Approve minutes of the La Porte Community Fencing Project Ad Hoc Committee <br />meeting held on March 27, 2023. [Brent McCaulley, Chair] <br />Member Engelken moved to approve the minutes of the March 27, 2023, La Porte <br />Community Fencing Project Ad Hoc Committee meeting; the motion was seconded by <br />Member Bentley; the motion was adopted, 6-0. <br />b. Presentation, discussion, and possible action to recommend to City Council to <br />award a community fence grant not to exceed $36,700.00 to The Retreat at Bay <br />Forest North HOA and a community fence grant not to exceed $16,400.00 to <br />Anthony Langston and Suzanne Skie-Azizi for the benefit of Oyster Bay <br />Subdivision. [Matt Daeumer, Assistant City Manager] <br />Without objection, the item was divided for each application to be handled separately. <br />Chair McCaulley signed a conflict of interest affidavit before the meeting and handed the <br />chair to Member Engelken before leaving the meeting. <br />
