H. Smith, William S. Love and William R. Shedelbower. <br />MEMBERS OF THE COMMISSION ABSENT: None. <br />OTHER CITY OFFICIALS PRESENT: <br />Margie Goyen, City Clerk <br />PRESIDING: Chairman Walter Roberson. <br />+ + + <br />1. CALL TO ORDER - The meeting was called to order by <br />• Chairman Roberson. <br />+ + + <br />2. RECONSIDER REQUEST - JAKE HARRIS - LOTS 27 AND 28,BLOCK 125 <br />FROM RESIDENTIAL TO COMMERCIAL - Mr. Roberson stated that <br />a request had been received from Mr. Jake Harris for the <br />Commission to reconsider rezoning Lots 27 and 28, Block 125, <br />from Residential to Commercial, said property being located <br />between 7th and 8th Streets. <br />Mr. Jake Harris was recognized and stated that the purpose <br />of his request was to build another building behind his <br />present welding shop on 8th Street. He stated that he had <br />retired and had gone into the welding business on a full time <br />basis and his business was such that he needed additional <br />space. He proposed to build a 20' x 40' building with office <br />space in the front and welding facilities in the rear plus <br />storage space. <br />It was determined that there was additional property along <br />8th Street, but the owners were not interested in selling <br />this property. Mr. Harris stated that he had owned the <br />property where the shop is approximately eight years and the <br />• property to be considered for rezoning approximately seven years. <br />
