<br />MINUTES <br />PLANNING & ZONING COMMISSION MEETING <br />JULY 18, 1991 <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Chairman Inge Browder, Commissioners Wayne Anderson, <br />Eugene Edmonds, Lola Phillips, Paul Schaider <br /> <br />Members Absent: <br /> <br />Commissioners Doug Martin, Betty Waters <br /> <br />City Staff Present: <br /> <br />Community Development Director Joel Albrecht, City Inspector <br />Mark Lewis, City Inspector Ernie Creveling, Chief Building <br />Official Ervin Griffith, City Attorney Knox Askins, Assistant City <br />Manager John Joerns, Community Development Secretary Peggy <br />Lee, City Secretary Cherie Black administered the Oath of <br />Office and left <br /> <br />Others Present: <br /> <br />Gary Groda, Ed Matuszak, David Kaup, and other Citizens <br /> <br />1) CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Meeting was called to order by Chairman Inge Browder at 6:05 PM. <br /> <br />2) ADMINISTER OATH OF OFFICE TO RE-APPOINTED PLANNING & ZONING <br />COMMISSION MEMBERS <br /> <br />City Secretary Cherie Black admistered the Oath of Office to Commissioner Eugene <br />Edmonds. <br /> <br />3) APPROVE MINUTES OF THE JUNE 27, 1991, REGULAR MEETING <br /> <br />A motion was made by Lola Phillips and seconded by Paul Schaider to approve the <br />minutes as submitted. All were in favor and the motion passed. <br /> <br />4. CITIZEN INPUT <br /> <br />Gary Groda restated his position being in favor of carports. <br />Ed Matuszak gave a report detailing his opposition to front yard carports and spoke <br />briefly in favor of the existing sign regulations currently in the Zoning Ordinance. <br />David Kaup, representing the Fairmont Park East Homeowner's Association, gave <br />a report stating opposition to front yard carports (being the general concensus of the <br />residents in the Homeowner's Association). <br />After further discussion, Gary Groda stated that he had misunderstood the carport <br />issue and wanted to retract all of his previous comments. <br />
