CALL TO ORDER. <br />The meeting was called to order by Chairperson Waters at 6:09 PM. <br />11. APPROVE MINUTES OF THE APRIL 16, 1998 REGULAR MEETING <br />AND PUBLIC HEARING. <br />A motion was made by Melton Wolters to approve the minutes. The <br />motion was seconded by Sandie Staniszewski. All were in favor and the <br />motion passed. <br />III. OPEN PUBLIC HEARING TO DISCUSS A REPEAT FOR ALL OF <br />BLOCKS 276, 295 AND 304 AND THE ADJOINING RIGHTS-OF-WAY <br />OF EAST "I', EAST "H" AND 5T" (ARIZONA) STREETS, TOWN OF LA <br />PORTE, HARRIS COUNTY, TEXAS. THE PROPERTY IS ALSO <br />KNOWN AS THE 800, 900, Sz 1,000 BLOCK OF SAN JACINTO STREET <br />AND THEIR ADJOINING RIGHTS-OF-WAY. LA PORTE <br />INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT, PROPERTY OWNER, HAS <br />REQUESTED THE REPEAT TO ESTABLISH A SINGLE LOT OF <br />RECORD THAT WILL BE KNOWN AS "LA PORTE I.S.D. <br />INSTRUCTIONAL CENTER". <br />Chairperson Waters opened the Public Hearing at 6:10 PM. <br />Mr. Rankin reported that the school district has a permit to construct an <br />Instructional Support Center building at 1002 San Jacinto Street. He <br />noted that on April 27, 1998, City Council passed Ordinance #98-2233, <br />which closed the existing alleys in the 800, 900 and 1,000 Block of San <br />Jacinto as well as the adjoining East "1", East "H" and 5"' (Arizona) Street <br />rights-of--way. If approved, the replat will establish a single lot of record to <br />facilitate future expansions. <br />Staff recommended approval of the replat. <br />
