<br />MII~NTES - REGULAR t,2EETITIG <br />LA PORTE CITY COI~ItSSION -APRIL 18, 1960 <br />7:00 P. M. <br />Regular meeting of the City Commission was called to order by Mayor H. P. <br />Pfeiffer, with the following members present: Commissioners Brown, Boyle, <br />Lawler and Osburn, Supt. ~I.A, Arthur, Attorney C, L. Pitman, and City Clerk <br />Frank G. Baker. <br />Also present were John Hatcher, Frank Core, Kenneth Adams and Elsie Moore, <br />(Press), 13111 Oglesby, J. 0. Rollins, A.H. Ja nssen (City Inspector), and <br />VP, A. Stabs. <br />Minutes of the last meeting were read and approved, <br />Carried. <br />Mayor Pfeiffer asked Mr. Janssen for a report on streets and pool as to pro- <br />gress, and if IUIr. Janssen needed extra help to inspect the projects novr in <br />progress, Mr. A, L. Quiett was recrn~rnended to vrork with I~4r. Janssen on the <br />sevimming pool. Mr. Janssen will contact Mr. Quiett, <br />h:Zayor Pfeiffer asked the Commission what their policy would be in reference <br />to culverts on ;hest side of Third Street, when property crnrners wanted access <br />to their property between J an~i K Streets. <br />Motion by Brown, second by Lawler, that the City will provide 72" culverts on <br />Zest side of 3rd Street, between J and K, when required by future development. <br />Carried, <br />Motion by Brown, second by Boyle, to relocate the two blocks of paving from <br />N. bth Street to North 5th Street, between Madison and F Street. <br />Carried. <br />Discussion on the contractor charging for the excavation of dirt was held, <br />and it was the opinion of the Commission that there would be no charge for <br />dirt if there was no additional cost to contractor. <br />Mayor Pfeiffer reported that the City would be reimbursed by the contractor <br />on pool for engineering fees that were charged by both contractor and engin- <br />eering firm. <br />It4ayor Ffeiffer asked that the bids on material for the lighted ball park on <br />North side, be opened.. The following bids were read.: <br />Houston Creosoting Co. Poles ~69?,86 <br />Texas Creosoting Co. Poles 725.x.0 <br />
