P. <br />.Pfeiffer, with the following members present: Commissioners Stabs, Osburn, <br />Brown and Dunham, Supt. ~9. A. Arthur, Attorney C. L. Pitman, and Assistant <br />City Clerk Ruth Huddleston. <br />The following visitors •raere also present: Elvin Fitch, John Garrison, Kenneth <br />Brown and G.E. Bisone, all of Houston; T. D. Thomas, Jr., r°d. A. Birdwell, Roy <br />H. Dkerik, C. H. Beck~rorth, all from EI Lago, and Jim Holley, Elsie ~4oore <br />and t~~. I;,arsh (Press) . <br />P,Iinutes of the last meeting were approved with the following exception: <br />Isiinutes of meeting of June 1'7, 1960, be corrected to include the tabulation <br />of bids for insux•~nce at swimming pool. <br />14'm. Fitch of the Fitch and Garrison <'~rchitectural Firm of Houston, discussed <br />a lour rent public housing program, ~~hi.ch is designed, built, owned and operated <br />by local housing authorities to provide decent homes at low rents for families <br />of low income. The Commission advised Ia1r. Fitch they would give the project <br />study and consideration. <br />A~. T. D. Thomas, Jr., of El Lago appeared as spokesman for the group from <br />El Lago, in .connection with the recent first reading of an annexation which <br />takes in this little community. He presented a petition signed by residents <br />of EI Lago, which was read aloud. This petition requested that the community <br />be released from the annexation program, so that they could proceed with in- <br />corporation, work on which had already started before the annexation took <br />place. The P~ayor advised the group that this request would be given careful <br />and serious study, and that the situation would be analyzed very carefully <br />before arty decision is made. <br />The matter of garbage dump charges was brought up at this time.
