• • <br />MIIQUTES - REGULAR MEETING <br />LA PORTS CITY COMMISSION - JANUAR2 20, 1961 <br />?:00 P. M. <br />Regular meeting of the City Com~rfssion was called to order by Mayor H. P. <br />Pfeiffer, with the following members present: Commissioners Brown, Dunham, <br />and Stabs, Supt. W, A.Arthur, City Attorney Pitman, and City Clerk Frank G. <br />Baker. <br />Also present were W. A. Birdwell, W. P. Gebhart and Ray D~uvik, from Seabrook, <br />Lloyd Frasier, Carlos Smith, and Mr. Cunningham (Century), Mrs. Brummerhop, Elsie <br />Moore and Jim Holley (Press). <br />Minutes of the last meetings were read and approved. <br />Carried. <br />The three gentlemen from Seabrook wanted to discuss the recent annexa,tio, of <br />tri~eir arse. Mayor Pfeiffer asked that they contact him in about two or three <br />weeks. <br />Motion by Brown, second by Stabs, that Resolution dealing with petition for <br />cancellation and vacation of a portion of dedication and map of W.M. Jones <br />tract within five miles of the dty liyrits of the city of Pasadena, Texas, <br />be adopted as read and signed by the Mayor and City Clerk. <br />• Carried. <br />(The Resolution has been placed in the Ordinance Book under closing of street".) <br />Mr. Smith discussed the Engineers report on the sewage treata4ent plant. The <br />Commission took no action on the report. <br />On Mr, Carlos Smiths recoma:endation, the contract of Pittsburg DesMoines Tank <br />Compangr was deferred until all releases are received. <br />The contract of Century Construction Company was discussed, and on the recopan- <br />endation of Mr. Smith, motion b3'' Brown, second by Stabs, that Century Construct- <br />ion Company be paid Estimate # 9, in the amount of X2,337.98. <br />Carried. <br />Motion by Brown, second by Dunham that Estimate # 8, in the amount of X20,000.00 <br />be rescinded, and that Check # 86~i4 payable t o Century Construction Company <br />and Builders Supply Compares be voided. <br />Carried. <br />1.J <br />
