• • MIIQUTES - REGULAR MEETING LA PORTS CITY COMMISSION - JANUAR2 20, 1961 ?:00 P. M. Regular meeting of the City Com~rfssion was called to order by Mayor H. P. Pfeiffer, with the following members present: Commissioners Brown, Dunham, and Stabs, Supt. W, A.Arthur, City Attorney Pitman, and City Clerk Frank G. Baker. Also present were W. A. Birdwell, W. P. Gebhart and Ray D~uvik, from Seabrook, Lloyd Frasier, Carlos Smith, and Mr. Cunningham (Century), Mrs. Brummerhop, Elsie Moore and Jim Holley (Press). Minutes of the last meetings were read and approved. Carried. The three gentlemen from Seabrook wanted to discuss the recent annexa,tio, of tri~eir arse. Mayor Pfeiffer asked that they contact him in about two or three weeks. Motion by Brown, second by Stabs, that Resolution dealing with petition for cancellation and vacation of a portion of dedication and map of W.M. Jones tract within five miles of the dty liyrits of the city of Pasadena, Texas, be adopted as read and signed by the Mayor and City Clerk. • Carried. (The Resolution has been placed in the Ordinance Book under closing of street".) Mr. Smith discussed the Engineers report on the sewage treata4ent plant. The Commission took no action on the report. On Mr, Carlos Smiths recoma:endation, the contract of Pittsburg DesMoines Tank Compangr was deferred until all releases are received. The contract of Century Construction Company was discussed, and on the recopan- endation of Mr. Smith, motion b3'' Brown, second by Stabs, that Century Construct- ion Company be paid Estimate # 9, in the amount of X2,337.98. Carried. Motion by Brown, second by Dunham that Estimate # 8, in the amount of X20,000.00 be rescinded, and that Check # 86~i4 payable t o Century Construction Company and Builders Supply Compares be voided.
