209 <br />MINUTES - REGULAR MEETING <br />of the <br />LA PORTS CITY COMM/SSlON, LA PORTS, TEXAS <br />July 20, 1964 <br />7:00 p. m. <br />PRESENT: Mayor H. P. Pfeiffer, Commissioners <br />Frank G. Baker, Russell Shepherd, <br />W. A. Stabs, Jr. <br />ABSENT: Commissioner Tom Osburn. <br />OTHERS PRESENT: City Clerk Clovis D. Mann; City <br />Attorney C. L. Pitman. <br />PRESIDING: Mayor H. P. Pfeiffer. <br /> <br />1. lnvocatton was given by Reverend Lewts <br />Tucker, N/inister of the First Methodist Church. <br /> <br />2. /Hinutes of the Regular Meeting of July 6, <br />1964, were read and approved, with an amendment to delete <br />Section 9 thereof, which called for a Budget Hearing for <br />Jc,1y 20, 1964. <br /> <br />3. Commissioner Baker made a motion, seconded <br />by Commissioner Stabs, that advertising for bids on an <br />Asphalt Distributor with bids to be opened at 7:00 p. m., <br />August 3, 1964, be approved. Motion carried. <br />~ ~ <br />4. Commissioner Stabs mcxde a motion, seconded <br />by Commisstoner Shepherd, that advertising for bids for <br />three thousand (3,000) lineal feet of eighf (8) inch <br />Cement Asbestos ptpe to be used for highway crossing, <br />with bids to be opened 7:00 p.m., August 3, 1964, be <br />approved. Motion carried. <br />* * ~ <br />5. Ouotations on a thirteen (13) wheel p~eu- <br />matic roller were opened. Commissioner Baker made a <br />motion, seconded by Commissioner Shepherd, that bids be <br />tabled unttl such time as they could be checked against <br />.specifications, after which time the best bid would be <br />accepted, and purchase authorized.
