Meeting called to order by Mayor Cline at 7:00 P.M. <br />Members of the City Council Present:- Mayor Virginia Cline, <br />Councilpersons Norman Malone, John Longley, Edward Matuszak, <br />Kevin Graves, Lindsay Pfeiffer, Deotis Gay, Don Skelton, <br />Linda Westergren <br />Members of the City Council Absent: None <br /> <br />Members of the City Staff Present: City Manager Jack Owen, <br />City Secretary Betty T. Waters, City Attorney Knox Askins, <br />Director of Administrative Services Bob Herrera, Director <br />of Public Works Jerry Hodge, Graduate Engineer John Joerns, <br />Building Official David Paulissen, Fire Chief Joe Seare, <br />Chief of Police H. F. Freeman, Assistant City Attorney John <br />Armstrong <br />Others Present: Freida Beaty, Baytown Sun; Pam Smith, L'a <br />Porte Broadcaster; Melissa Lestarjett, Bayshore Sun; <br />H. Carlos Smith; Charles Ripple, Sears & Burns.; Jeff Patter- <br />son, Southeast Weekly <br />2. The invocation was given by Councilperson Skelton <br />3. Council Considered the minutes of the Regular Meeting of the <br />La Porte City Council held December 15, 1982. Councilperson <br />Skelton asked that page Al, last paragraph of the minutes <br />be amended to read, "Councilperson Skelton requested a letter <br />be sent by Mayor Cline to Judge Lindsay and Commissioner <br />Fonteno expressing the Council's support of the petition <br />presented by 257 residents of La Porte." <br />A motion was made by Councilperson Gay to accept-and approve <br />the minutes as amen a Secon y Counci person Graves. T e <br />motion Carrie 9 ayes and 0 nays. <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Malone, Longley, Matuszak, Graves,. <br />Pfeiffer, Gay, Skelton, Westergren and Mayor Cline <br />Nays: None <br />4. Celia Trevino was not present to speak to the Council con- <br />~; cerning street improvements, <br />
