Meeting called to order by Mayor Pro-Tem Skelton at 7:00 P.M. <br />Members of the City Council Present: Mayor-Pro-Tem Don Skelton; <br />Councilpersons Norman Malone, Edward Matuszak, Kevin Graves, <br />Lindsay Pfeiffer, Deotis Gay <br />Members of the City Council Absent: Mayor Virginia Cline, <br />Councilpersons John Longley, Linda Westergren <br /> <br />Members of the City Staff Present: City Manager Jack Owen, <br />City Attorney Knox Askins, Acting City Secretary Judy Cain, <br />Fire Chief Joe 8ease, Director of Public Works Jerry Hodge, <br />Director of Administrative Services Bob Herrera, Director <br />of Parks and Recreation Stanley Sherwood, Graduate Engineer <br />John Joerns <br />Others Present: Frieda Beaty, Baytown Sun; Jeff Patterson, <br />Southeast Weekly; Melissa Lestarjette, Bayshore Sun; 27 <br />interested citizens <br />• <br />2. The invocation was given by City Attorney Askins. <br />3. Council considered the minutes of the Regular Meeting of the <br />La Porte City Council-held January 5, .1983. A motion was made <br />by Councilperson Malone to approve and accept t e minutes as <br />presented. Second by Councilperson Matuszak. The motion car- <br />ried, 6 ayes and 0 nays. <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Malone,. Matuszak, Graves, .Pfeiffer, .Gay <br />and Mayor Pro-Tem Skelton <br />Nays: None <br />4. Mayor Pro-Tem Skelton proclaimed the month of February as <br />"Children's Dental Health Month" and "National Heart Month." <br />5. Mrs. Cheryl Angelli cancelled her appearance before Council. <br />6. ..Joseph W. Chadwick requested the Council to reconsider his <br />application for an on-premise beer permit at 2199 Underwood <br />Road. <br />
