• <br />MINIITES OF TH8 REGIILAR MEETING OF LA FORTE CITY COIINCIL <br />APRIL 8, 1991 <br />1. The meeting was called to order by Mayor Malone at 6:00 P.M. <br />Members of City Council Present: Mayor Norman Malone, <br />Councilpersons Guy Sutherland, Ed Matuszak (arrived at 6:05 <br />P.M.), Bob McLaughlin, Alton Porter, Deotis Gay (arrived at <br />7:10 P.M.), B. Don Skelton, Jerry Clarke <br />Members of City Council Absent: Councilperson Mike Cooper <br />Members of City Staff Present: City Manager Bob Herrera, City <br />Attorney Knox Askins, City Secretary Cherie Black, Assistant <br />City Manager John Joerns, Director of Public Works Steve <br />Gillett, Finance Director Jeff Litchfield, Human <br />Resources/Purchasing Manager Louis Rigby, Assistant Director <br />of Public Works Buddy Jacobs, City Engineer Bill Manning, <br />Director of Community Development Joel Albrecht, Director of <br />Parks and Recreation Stan Sherwood, Acting Police Chief Tom <br />Neely, Fire Chief Joe Sease <br />Others Present: Aquatics Coordinator Ron Hale; Recreation <br />Superintendent Tim O'Connor; Survey Party Supervisor Reagan <br />McPhail; John Black, Bayshore Sun; 16 citizens <br />2. The invocation was given by Councilperson Clarke. <br />3. Council considered approving the minutes of the regular <br />meeting of Council held March 25, 1991. <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Skelton to approve the March <br />25 minutes as presented. Second by Councilperson Sutherland. <br />The motion carried, 6 ayes and 0 nays (Councilpersons Matuszak <br />and Gay had not yet arrived). <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Sutherland, McLaughlin, Porter, <br />Skelton, Clarke and Mayor Malone <br />Nays: None <br />4. The Mayor and City Manager Bob Herrera presented an engraved <br />gold watch to recent retiree Pablo Soto Alvarez. Mr. Alvarez <br />expressed his appreciation. <br />5. The following citizens addressed Council: Lindsay Pfeiffer, <br />regarding problems with the East E Street paving and the fact <br />that the storm sewer interceptors will leave the ditches along <br />the feeder streets wider and deeper, and will really look bad. <br />He asked for help in resolving this. <br />
