MINUTES OF THE DRAINAGE AND FLOODING COMMITTEE <br />OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE <br />Members Present: Jay Martin, Chuck Engelken, Bill Bentley, alternate <br />Members Attending Remotely: None <br />Members Absent: Mandi Williams <br />Council -appointed Officers Present: Corby Alexander, City Manager; Clark T. Askins, <br />City Attorney; Lee Woodward, City Secretary <br />The City of La Porte Drainage and Flooding Committee met on May 12, 2024, <br />at the City Hall Council chamber, 604 West Fairmont Parkway, <br />La Porte, Texas, at 5:00 p.m. <br />1. CALL TO ORDER - Chair Martin called the meeting to order at 5:00 p.m. <br />2. CITIZEN COMMENT <br />There were no comments. <br />3. Presentation, discussion, and possible action to approve the minutes of the <br />April 14, 2025, meeting. [Lee Woodward, City Secretary] <br />Member Enaelken moved to aoorove the minutes as Dresented: Member Bentlev <br />seconded the motion: the motion was adopted. <br />4. 100-ACRE-FOOT POND - Presentation, discussion, and possible action <br />regarding the status of the 100-acre-foot detention pond project near the <br />Pasadena Convention Center and Brookglen Subdivision, as established in <br />amended interlocal agreement between the City of La Porte and the City of <br />Pasadena. [Ray Mayo, Director of Public Works] <br />Mr. Mayo said he hopes the engineer will attend the June meeting to assure the <br />Committee that the changes to the project will not affect the City of Pasadena's <br />agreement made with the City of La Porte. Mr. Askins reminded the Committee that <br />the City of Pasadena was contractually bound by the terms of the Amended Interlocal <br />Agreement, regardless of changes in the Pasadena City Council. He also said he <br />would follow up with the City Attorney for the City of Pasadena. <br />5. HCFCD PROJECT UPDATE - Presentation, discussion, and possible action <br />regarding Harris County Flood Control District (HCFCD) and Harris County <br />
