• / <br />MINUTES - REGULAR MEETING <br />OF THE <br />LA PORTE CITY COMMISSION, LA PORTE, TEXAS <br />FEBRUARY 16, 1970 <br />7:00 P.M. <br />MEMBERS OF THE COMMISSION PRESENT: Mayor H. P. Pfeiffer, <br />Commissioners E.A.Thomas, Charles D. Boyle, Bobby J. Burgin, <br />and H. Gould Crofoot. <br />MEMBERS OF TF?E COMMISSION ABSENT: None. <br />OTHER CITY OFFICIALS PRESENT: P.V.Werner,City Administrator, <br />Virginia Cline, City Clerk, Knox Askins, City Attorney, <br />Robert Cline, Director of Public Works, and H.F. Freeman, <br />Chief of Police. <br />MEMBERS OF THE PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION PRESENT: <br />Walter Roberson, Chairman, Ken Adams, and Mrs. Lois Compton. <br /> <br />1. Minutes of the regular meeting of February 2, 1970 <br />and the special meeting of February 9, 1970 were <br />approved as presented. <br />2. Public Hearing to determine whether to re-zone Blocks <br />1,2,14,15,and 16, Nebraska Syndicate (Bay Meadows) <br />from R-1 Residential to Mobile Home Park. <br />The Public Hearing was opened by Mayor Pfeiffer, <br />who stated that all proceedings would be recorded <br />on tape and that the rule would be that the <br />Petitioners and others appearing on behalf of the <br />re-zoning would be permitted to speak first, then <br />any that opposed the re-zoning would be permitted <br />to speak. <br />It was ascertained that notices to all property <br />owners within 200 feet of the property to be re- <br />zoned were mailed on January 26,1970, and that a <br />Public Notice of this hearing was published in the <br />official newspaper of the city on January 29,1970. <br />Commissioner Boyle stepped down from the Commission <br />and did not participate as a member of the Commission <br />in the discussion or consideration of re-zoning of <br />the Bay Meadows Subdivision. <br />Commissioner Boyle introduced Mr. William E. Baker, <br />president of Gulf Coast Mobile Homes Inc. Mr. Baker <br />
