~ ~ <br />MINUTES - SPECIAL MEETING <br />• OF THE <br />LA PORTS CITY COMMISSION, LA PORTS, TEXAS <br />APRIL 24, 1972 <br />7:00 P.M. <br />MEMBERS OF THE COMMISSION PRESENT: Mayor E. A. Thomas, <br />C. D. Christensen, I. J. Kibodeaux, G. E. Sampson and <br />C. D. Boyle. <br />MEMBERS OF THE COMMISSION ABSENT: None. <br />OTHER CITY OFFICIALS PRESENT: Virginia Cline, City Clerk; <br />Knox Askins, City Attorney; Robert Cline, Director of <br />Public Works, H. F. Freeman, Chief of Police and Fire <br />Chief, Jack Oliphant. <br />• PRESIDING: Mayor Thomas. <br />+ + + <br />1. Mayor Thomas stated the special meeting was called <br />because of the resignation of the City Administrator, <br />Dick Brown. Mayor Thomas explained that Mr. Brown <br />had submitted his resignation effective April 30, <br />1972, but after polling the Commission, it was <br />unanimously decided to ask Mr. Brown to dispense <br />his duties with the City, Monday, April 24, 1972. <br />Motion by Comm. Christensen, seconded by Coma. Sampson <br />to accept the resignation of Richard L. Brown as <br />City Administrator. Motion carried by the following <br />vote <br />AYES: Commissioners Christensen, Kibodeaux, Sampson <br />and Boyle. <br />NAYS: None. <br /> <br />• + + + <br />
