Don <br /> Skelton, Jerry Clarke <br /> Members of Citv Council Absent: None <br /> Members of City Staff Present: City Manager Bob Herrera, City <br /> Attorney Knox Askins, City Secretary Cherie Black, Assistant <br /> City Manager John Joerns, Assistant to the City Manager Janie <br /> Bais, Director of Public Works Steve Gillett, Purchasing <br /> Manager Louis Rigby, Police Chief Charles Smith, Finance <br /> Director Jeff Litchfield, Director of Community Development <br /> Joel Albrecht, Assistant Director of Public Works Buddy <br /> Jacobs, Fire Chief Joe Sease <br /> Others Present: Brent Ryan; Jim Wyatt; John Black, Bayshore <br /> Sun; 22 citizens <br />2. The invocation was given by Mayor Malone. <br />3. Council considered approving the minutes of the Citizens <br /> Participation meeting and regular meeting of Council held <br /> November 28, 1988. <br /> Motion was made bv Counciloerson Skelton to aoorove the <br /> minutes Qf the November 28 meetinq with an amendment to <br /> reflect the correct time of Counciloerson Porter's arrival <br /> time as 6:1:)7. Second by Councilperson Waters. The motion <br /> carried, 8 ayes and 0 nays (Councilperson Matuszak had not yet <br /> arrived). <br /> Ayes: Councilpersons Waters, Cooper, Porter, Shipp, Gay, <br /> Skelton, Clarke and Mayor Malone <br /> Nays: None <br />4. The following persons addressed Council at this time: <br /> Mrs. Evelyn Kennedy - requesting that Council consider putting <br /> the purchase of the old Post Office site for use as a senior <br /> citizens center as a priority for the Community Development <br /> Block Grant application. <br /> Dr. Eoin Harvey addressed Council to request their <br /> consideration of D. E. Aviation's offer to lease 14 tie-down <br /> spaces at La Porte Municipal Airport and a 100 x 100 foot <br /> piece of property lying adjacent to the ramp. <br />
