<br />- <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />ORDINANCE NO. <br /> <br />1127 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 4, AMBULANCES, OF THE CODE OF <br />ORDINANCES, REQUIRING T~T A COpy OF TIlE CHAUFFEUR'S LICENSE <br />OF EACH DRiVER BE FILED WITH THE CITY CLERK; PROVIDING THAT <br />ATTENDANTS MUST BE EIGHTEEN YEARS OF AGE OR OLDER; REQUIRING <br />THAT EACH DRIVER MUST HAVE A CURRENT EMERGENCY CARE ATTENDANT <br />CERTIFICATE; REQUIRING THAT EACH ATTENDANT MUST HAVE A CURRENT <br />EMERGENCY MEDICAL TECHNICIAN CERTIFICATE; REQUIRING THAT SUCH <br />CERTIFICATES BE FILED WITH THE CITY CLERK; REQUIRING THAT <br />COMMUNICATIONS ON ,RADIO AIRWAYS 'BE BRIEF, PUNCTUAL AND FACTUAL; <br />PROVIDING THAT ANY PERSON VIOLATING THE TERMS OF THIS ORDINANCE <br />SHALL BE DEEMED GUILTY OF A MISDEMEANOR AND UPON CONVICTION <br />THEREOF SHALL BE FINED IN ANY SUM NOT MORE THAN TWO HUNDRED <br />DOLLARS ($200.00); AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE: <br /> <br />Section 1. The Code of Ordinances, City of La Porte, Texas <br />is hereby amended by adding a section, to be numbered 4-2~, <br /> <br />which said section reads as follows: <br /> <br />"Sec. 4-2~ Copies of Chauffeur's Licenses to be Filed. <br /> <br />"Each emergency ambulance operator must file with the City <br />Clerk a photostatic; copy of the current chauffeur's licenses <br />issued by the Texas Department of Public Safety, of each person <br />employed by him who operates or drives an emergency ambulance <br />upon the s tree ts - of the City." <br /> <br />Section 2. Section 4-3(1) of the Code of Ordinances, City <br /> <br />of La Porte, Texas is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />"(1) The attendant must be eighteen (18) years <br />of age or older." <br /> <br />Section 3. Section 4-4 of the Code of Ordinances, City of <br /> <br />La Porte, Texas is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />"Sec. 4-4 Driver and Attendant must be Certified. <br /> <br />(a) It shall be unlawful to 'operate or drive, or cause to <br />be operated or driven, an emergency ambulance on the public <br />streets of the City of La Porte for the purpose of furnishing <br />emergency ambulance service unless the dirver thereof has a <br />current Emergency Medical Technician certificate issued by <br />the Texas Department of Health. <br /> <br />(b) Each emergency ambulance operator must file with the <br />City Clerk, a photostatic copy of each certificate required <br />under this section." <br /> <br />Section 4. Section 4-14 of the Code of Ordinances, City of <br /> <br />La Porte, Texas is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />"Sec. 4-14.
