Pfeiffer, Comrrrissioners <br />Bobby J. Burgin, Charles D. Boyle, H. Gould Crofoot, and E. A. <br />.Thomas. <br />MEMBERS OF THE COMM/SS/ON ABSENT: None. <br />OTHER C/TY OFFICIALS PRESENT; City Administrator P. V. Werner, City Clerk <br />Marilyn Kelley, City Attorney Knox W. Askins, and the La Porte <br />Planning and Zoning Commission. <br />PRESIDING: Mayor Pfeiffer. <br />+ + + <br />9. The City Commission and the rlanning and Zoning Commission met <br />in joint session to hold a public hearing for the possible <br />re-coning of Lots 9 thru 96, Block 934, Town of La Porte, from <br />R9 Residential to allow for Townhouse construction. <br />Mr. Ervin Asbeck, Jr. presented the request. <br />The following persons spoke in opposition to the request: <br />Mrs. Wayne D. Farson, 624 South Second. <br />Mrs. Eugene Mabry, 632 South Second. <br />Mrs. P. G. Kibodeaux, 629 South Second. <br />Commissioner Thomas expressed op~.osition to the number of <br />units in such a small area. <br />Commissioner Boyle stated that FHA ~.t#~t Townhouses <br />~e constructed, facing residential property. <br />Mayor Pfeiffer declared the hearing closed. <br />The Planning and Zoning Commission retired for a special <br />session, and returned to the meeting with the following <br />recommendation: <br />"The. Planning and Zoning Commission recommends that the <br />request be approved, and That the property be zonea to <br />allow for one story townhouses." <br />A motion was made by Commissioner Boyle, seconded by Commissioner <br />Crofoot, that Lots 9 thru 96, Block 934, Town of La Porte be <br />zoned to allow for one story townhouses, subject to receiving <br />acceptable plans and specifications. Commissioners Thomas <br />and Burgin voted "no". Commissioners Crofoot and Boyle voted <br />"yes". The motion carried with Mayor Pfeiffer voting for <br />the rezoning. <br />+ + t <br />
