The meeting was called to order by Mayor Malone at 6:00 <br />P.M. <br />Members of City Council Present: Mayor Norman Malone, <br />Councilpersons Betty Waters, John Lloyd, Ed Matuszak, Alton <br />Porter, Mike Shipp, Deotis Gay, B. Don Skelton, Jerry <br />Clarke <br />Members of City Council Absent: None <br />Members _of City Staff Present: City Manager Bob Herrera, <br />City Attorney Knox Askins, City Secretary Cherie Black, <br />Assistant City Manager John Joerns, Administrative <br />Assistant to the City Manager Janie Luna, Director of <br />Public Works Steve Gillett, Police Chief Charles Smith, <br />Director of Community Development Joel Albrecht, Director <br />of Parks and Recreation Stan Sherwood, Purchasing Manager <br />Louis Rigby, Capital Improvements Projects Manager Ross <br />Cox, Assistant City Attorney John Armstrong <br />Others Present: Al Blackford, Rex Carr, and members of La <br />Porte FFA; Dick McDuff, representing Eagles Lodge; Doug <br />Latimer and Janet Graves, Planning and Zoning Commission; <br />Melissa Doyle, Bayshore Sun; 60 citizens <br />2. The invocation was given by Councilperson Skelton. <br />3. The Mayor proclaimed the week of April 4-9 as FFA Week. <br />Representatives of the La Porte FFA, accompanied by Al <br />Blackford and Rex Carr, were present to receive the <br />proclamation. <br />4. Council considered approving the minutes of the public <br />hearings and regular meeting held March 14, 1988. <br />Moti n was made by Councilperson Skelton to approve the <br />minutes of March 14 as presented. Second by Councilperson <br />Lloyd. The motion carried, 9 ayes and 0 nays. <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Waters, Lloyd, Matuszak, Porter, <br />Shipp, Gay, Skelton, Clarke and Mayor Malone <br />Nays: None <br />
