CALL TO ORDER <br />The meeting was called to order by Mayor Norman Malone at 6:00 p.m. <br />Members of City Council Present: Councilpersons Guy Sutherland, Chuck Engelken, <br />Howard Ebow, Peter Griffiths, Alton Porter, Deotis Gay, James Warren, Charlie Young, <br />Jerry Clarke, and Norman Malone. <br />Members of Council Absent: None <br />Members of Cit~Executive Staff and City Employees Present: City Manager Robert T. <br />Herrera, City Attorney Knox Askins, Assistant City Manager John Joerns, City Secretary <br />Martha Gillett, Finance Director Cynthia Alexander, Director of Administrative Services <br />Louis Rigby, Parks and Recreation Director Stephen Barr, Public Works Director Steve <br />Gillett, Administrative Assistant Carol Buttler, Purchasing Manager Susan Kelley, <br />Emergency Services Director Joe Sease, Planning Director Doug Kneupper, City <br />Manager's Secretary Sara Urich and Police Chief Richard Reff. <br />Others Present: Neal Welch, Charles Underwood, Charlie Perry, Ms. Ogden, Charlie <br />Hinds, Nick Barrera, Deborah Johnson, Colleen Hicks and a number of citizens. <br />2. Reverend, Randy Young of St. Mark's Methodist Church delivered the invocation. <br />3. Council considered approving the minutes of the Regular Meeting on Apri123, 2001. <br />Motion was made ~ Counci~erson Clarke to approve the minutes of the Regular <br />Meeting on Apri123, 2001 as presented. Second by Councilperson Griffiths. The motion <br />carried. <br />Ayes: Sutherland, Engelken, Ebow, Griffiths, Gay, Young, Clarke, and Malone. <br />Nays: None <br />Abstain: Porter <br />4. PETITIONS, REMONSTRANCES, COMMUNICATIONS, AND CITIZENS AND <br />TAXPAYERS WISHING TO ADDRESS COUNCIL. <br />The following citizens addressed City Council: <br />Charlie Hinds -11521 North L. Street, La Porte, Texas 77571 - Mr. Hinds requested <br />City Council move the flood control ditch located near his home. <br />Charlie Perry - 127 North 4~' St., La Porte, Texas 77571 - Mr. Perry thanked Mr. Gay for <br />his years of service serving as Councilmember District 4. In addition, he informed <br />Council he looked forward to continuing working with the City on the various projects <br />currently underway. <br />
