<br />.' <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />41 <br /> <br />SECTION 43. SPRINKLER EQUIPMENTS. <br /> <br />1. Sprinklers required. In buildings hereafter erected, or al- <br />tered to increase the area or height, approved' automatic sprinkler <br />equipments shall be installed and maintained as specified in the <br />following paragraphs. The areas specified shall be the area en- <br />closed by exterior walls or fire walls or a combination thereof, except <br />that in buildings of fireproof construction or semifireproof construc- <br />tion the area shall be that enclosed by exterior walls, fire walls or <br />firt: pal titi0i15 or a cOinbination thereof. <br />(a). Buildings over 2 stories in height used <br />facture, sale or storage of combustible goods or <br /> <br />for the manu- <br />merchandise (not <br /> <br />SECTION 42. ELECTRICAL INSTALLATIONS. <br /> <br />All electrical wiring, apparatus, or appliances for furnishing <br />light, heat, or power shall be in strict conformity with approved <br />methods and practices for safety to life and property. Compliance <br />with the National Electrical Code, as published by the National <br />Board of Fire Underwriters, shall be prima facie evidence of such <br />approved methods and practices. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />5. Toilet rooms. <br />(a). "Vater closets and urinals shall be placed in rooms or com- <br />partments which are devoted exclusively to toilet facilities. <br />(b). In every water closet or urinal compartment hereafter <br />constructed or installed, except in dwellings and multifamily houses, <br />the entire floor and the side walls to a height of not less than 6 <br />inches shall be made waterproof with asphalt, cement, tile, marble, <br />slate or other approved material impervious to water. <br />(c). The partitions enclosing toilet rooms shall be solid, except <br />for the entrance door, and shall extend from the floor to the ceiling. <br />Partitions separating water closets or urinals within a toilet room <br />shall not extend to the ceiling but shall be so constructed as to per- <br />mit circulation of air throughout the toilet room. <br /> <br />4. Separate toilets. In buildings where more than one water <br />closet is required, except in dwellings and multifamily houses, sepa- <br />rate water closets and toilet rooms shall be provided for the sexes. <br /> <br />3. Toilet facilities. <br />(a). Except as otherwise prescribed by law or ordinance, in <br />every existing building not already supplied and in every building <br />hereafter erected, where there is continuous human occupancy or <br />employment, there shall be a sufficient number of suitable and con- <br />venient water closets, properly connected with the drainage system. <br />(b). In dwellings and multifamily houses there shall be at least <br />one separate water closet within each apartment. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />2. Water Supply. <br />(a).
