Finalize scope of work, schedule and proposed budget <br />for the Design Phase, including breakdown of all other services <br />required to complete the Design Phase. <br /> <br />9. Prepare Preliminary PIan and Preliminary Cost <br />Estimate and furnish 5 copies of preliminary documents to City <br />for approval prior to starting the Design Phase. <br />All items will be coordinated with the City staff and assist <br />City in discussions with adjacent property owners. Conduct two <br />progress meetings with owner. <br /> <br />DESIGN PHASE <br /> <br />Upon completion of Preliminary Engineering Phase, and upon <br />written approval of the Preliminary Engineering Report by the <br />City, the Engineer shall proceed with Design Phase. Work to be <br />performed in the Design Phase shall include the following: <br /> <br />1. Conduct field surveys necessary to complete the <br />design of the project. <br /> <br />2. Collect available plats, easement descriptions and <br />right-of-way for the project area. <br /> <br />3. Establish design standards and methods and detail <br />areas requiring special design considerations. Evaluate <br />alternate construction standards and alternate pipe materials. <br /> <br />4. Assist the City in obtaining approvals of all <br />regulatory agencies such as Harris County Flood Control District, <br />Texas State Health Department and Harris County. Preliminary <br />plans approved by the City shall be submitted to regulatory <br />agencies for approval and/or permitting. <br /> <br />5. Notify franchise utilities of any conflicts with <br />proposed improvements and arrange for any necessary relocations. <br /> <br />6. Prepare preliminary construction drawings and <br />specifications for review by the City, and prepare estimate of <br />construction cost. <br /> <br />7. After review of preliminary construction drawings <br />and specifications, complete final construction drawings and <br />specifications and prepare contract documents. <br /> <br />8. Submit final contract documents to the City for <br />final review. <br /> <br />Page 3 of 19 <br />
