<br />. <br /> <br />(g) Persons that are not to drive the apparatus due to company policy will be noted on <br />the city issued license. These individuals should not under any circumstances drive <br />in the city until such time that their employer notifies the chief EMS officer that the <br />person has been cleared and authorized to drive the company's apparatus and <br />vehicles. <br /> <br />Section 9 Renewal of license <br /> <br />Renewal of any license hereunder, upon expiration or after revocation shall <br />require conformance with all requirements of this chapter as upon original licensing. <br /> <br />Section 10 Revocation of license <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />(a) The chief EMS officer may, and is hereby authorized to, suspend or revoke a license <br />issued hereunder for failure of a licensee to comply and to maintain in compliance <br />with, or for his violation of, any applicable provisions, standards, or requirements of <br />this chapter, or of regulations promulgated hereunder, or any other such applicable <br />laws or ordinances, but only after warning and such reasonable time for compliance <br />as may be set by th~ chief EMS officer. Any applicant denied an license or any <br />licensee whose license is suspended or revoked shall have the right of appeal to the <br />chief of the City of La Porte Fire Department. Such appeal shall be submitted in <br />writing to the chief EMS officer for forwarding to the Fire Chief within 10 days of <br />occurrence of the action being appealed. the Fire Chief shall within 10 days after <br />the appeal is received, consider all pertinent evidence in support or against the <br />ruling appealed and render a decision either sustaining, reversing, or modifying the <br />determination of the chief of EMS officer. <br />(b) lfthe decision of the Fire Chiefis not acceptable to the applicant or licensee, he <br />may within 10 days file a written request to have his appeal heard by the City <br />Manager and/or the City Council. This hearing shall be held within 30 days of <br />receipt of appeal and any decision reached at this point shall be the final position of <br />the City of La Porte. <br />(c) Upon suspension, revocation, or expiration of an ambulance license hereunder, such <br />ambulance shall cease operation as such and no person shall permit such ambulance <br />to be operated within the city limits of La Porte. Upon suspension, revocation, or <br />expiration of an attendant or driver's license issued hereunder, such attendant or <br />driver shall cease to drive or attend patients in any capacity within the City of La <br />Porte. No ambulance company shall allow persons not duly licensed ass <br />driver/attendants by the City of La Porte to work in such capacity inside the city. <br /> <br />Section 11 Medical director to serve in an advisory capacity. <br /> <br />(a) Any ambulance whose attendant receives physicians' orders either by radio, <br />telemetry, telephone, or written standing orders must have, in an advisory capacity, <br />a physician, licensed in the State of Texas and registered in Harris County to serve <br />as a medical director. <br /> <br />. <br />
