Should an employee terminate after taking his vacation, the <br />amount of unearned vacation he has already received shall be with- <br />held from his final check. <br />7. If an employee is on vacation and a holiday should occur, <br />the employee will be granted an extra day vacation. <br />8. Should an employee get sick while on vacation, he or she <br />will furnish a Doctor's Certificate showing date and nature <br />of illness, this time to be charged to Sick Leave. <br />9. Vacation leave shall be arranged with Department Heads. <br />Department heads should arrange vacation at such time that <br />would least interfere with operations of the City and at the <br />same time consider the employee. Should there be a conflict <br />between employees as to time of vacations, preference should <br />be given to the one with the longest tenure with the City. <br />10. All employees shall be required to take at least five <br />days of vacation consecutively at some time during the year. <br />Employees with three weeks vacation shall be required to take <br />at least five days of vacation consecutively twice each year. <br />• Employees with four weeks vacation shall be required to take <br />at least five days vacation consecutively three times each <br />year. The remaining days of vacation may be taken in periods <br />desired by the employee and approved by the immediate supervisor. <br />Vacation time may not be taken in periods of less than one day. <br />11. During the first ten years of service an employee is <br />allowed to carry over five days of vacation from one year <br />to the next by taking one week this year and three weeks <br />the next. Employees entitled to fifteen or twenty days shall <br />take the full time each calendar year. <br />12. Each employee is expected to take a vacation each year <br />and will not be paid in liew of vacation. <br /> <br />
