<br /> <br />Regular Meeting 4/30/79 <br />5 <br />10. CONSIDER AWARDING BIDS - UTILITY EXTENSIONS - WATER LINE ON <br />FAIRMONT PARKWAY, SANITARY SEWER ON SOUTH 16TH STREET TO <br />SERVE P.P.G. INDUSTRIES, SANITARY SEWER TO SERVE M. D. ROSE <br />BETWEEN OAK GROVE & SEABREEZE - The Administrator read the <br />recommendation from Busch, Hutchison & Associates recommending <br />that the bid bet awarded to the low bidder, McKey Construction <br />and Equipment in the amount of $50,719.00. <br />Motion by Commissioner Kibodeaux, seconded by Commissioner <br />Simons to award the bid for utility extensions to the low <br />bidder, McKey Construction and Equipment in the amount of <br />$50,719.00 subject to each party putting their share of the <br />money in escrow. Motion carried by the following vote: <br />AYES: Commissioners Tomerlin, Kibodeaux, Cline, and Simons. <br />NAYS: None. <br />A copy of the recommendation from the Engineer is attached <br />and made a, part of these minutes. <br />• <br />+ + + <br />11. CONSIDER APPROVING PROPOSED ORDINANCE NO. 1153 - ORDINANCE <br />APPOINTING MAYOR PRO-TEM - After a brief discussion, motion <br />by Commissioner Kibodeaux, seconded by Commissioner Simons <br />to read the ordinance appointing the Mayor Pro-Tem for six <br />months, Positions 1 and 3. The Ordinance was read in full. <br />Motion by Commissioner Kibodeaux, seconded by Commissioner <br />Simons to approve Ordinance No. 1153 as read. Motion carried <br />by the following vote: <br />AYES: Commissioners Tomerlin, Kibodeaux, and Simons. <br />NAYS: Commissioner Cline, stating she felt there was <br />merit for one-year terms. <br />CAPTION: AN ORDINANCE APPOINTING THE CITY COMMISSIONERS TO <br />TERMS AS MAYOR PRO-TEM OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE, FOR THE PERIOD <br />MAY 1, 1979, THROUGH APRIL 30, 1980, BOTH INCLUSIVE; AND <br />PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. <br />+ + + <br />• <br />• <br />
