• <br />• Regular Meeting, 11/5/80, Page 4 <br />Mayor Meza stated the second petition to be publicly heard <br />at this joint public hearing was a request to re-zone 4.562 <br />acres out of the Richard Pearsall Survey from Commercial to <br />Industrial by Marco Equipment Company. The City Secretary <br />stated all interested parties have been notified and public <br />notice given in the newspaper. Mayor Meza asked if there <br />was anyone present wishing to make a statement concerning <br />the rezoning. No one came forward. <br />Pat Muston, Chairwoman for Planning and Zoning, read the <br />recommendation for rezoning from Planning and Zoning. <br />City Attorney Askins read: AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE <br />NO. 780, THE CITY OF LA PORTE ZONING ORDINANCE, BY CHANGING <br />THE CLASSIFICATION OF THAT CERTAIN PARCEL OF LAND HEREIN <br />DESCRIBED; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. <br />Motion was made by Councilman Kibodeaux to pass and approve <br />Ordinance No. 780 AAA, changing the 4.562 acres out of the <br />Richard Pearsall Survey owned by Marco Equipment from Com- <br />mercial to Industrial zoning classification. The motion was <br />seconded by Councilman Tomerlin. The motion carried 4 ayes <br />and 0 nays . <br />• Ayes: Councilmen Tomerlin, Kibodeaux, Cline, Simons <br />Nays: None <br />The public hearing was adjourned and Mayor Meza recessed the <br />meeting briefly at 8:05 P.M. <br />The regular meeting of the La Porte City Council reconvened <br />at 8:10 P.M. <br />*5. <br />Ayes: Councilmen Kibodeaux, Simons, Mayor Meza <br />Nays: None <br />Abstain: Councilman Tomerlin, Councilwoman Cline <br />minutes of the regular meeting of the La Porte City Council <br />held on October 5, 1980. City Attorney Askins read: AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING ON FINAL <br />READING THE HEREINAFTER DESCRIBED TERRITORY TO THE CITY OF <br />LA PORTE, AND EXTENDING THE BOUNDARY LIMITS OF THE SAID CITY <br />OF LA PORTE, TEXAS; PROVIDING A SAVINGS CLAUSE; AND PROVIDING <br />AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. <br />Motion was made by Councilwoman Cline to pass and approve <br />• Ordinance No. 1235, second by Councilman Tomerlin.
