The motion was seconded by <br /> Councilman Kibodeaux. City Attorney Askins read: AN ORDINANCE VACATING, ABANDONING <br /> AND CLOSING ALL OF THE ALLEY IN BLOCK ELEVEN HUNDRED TWENTY- <br /> TWO (1122) , IN THE TOWN OF LA PORTE, HARRIS COUNTY, TEXAS. <br /> Motion was made by Councilwoman Cline to pass and approve <br /> Ordinance No. 1243, vacating the alley in Block 1122 for <br /> Roy Kaylor. Seconded by Councilman Simons. The motion carried, <br /> 4 ayes and 0 nays. <br />. Ayes: Councilman Tomerlin, Councilman Kibodeaux, Councilwoman <br /> Cline, Councilman Simons <br /> Nays: None <br /> 13. City Attorney Askins read: AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 25, <br /> SECTION 33, OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE, <br /> DEFINING AND CREATING THE OFFENSE OF NEGLIGENT COLLISION; <br /> PROVIDING THAT PROOF OF NO INTENT SHALL NOT BE REQUIRED; CON- <br /> TAINING EXCEPTIONS; PROVIDING THAT ANY PERSON VIOLATING THE <br /> TERMS OF THIS ORDINANCE SHALL BE DEEMED GUILTY OF A MISDE- <br /> MEANOR AND SHALL UPON CONVICTION BE FINED NOT TO EXCEED TWO <br /> HUNDRED DOLLARS ($200.00) ; FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN <br /> MEETINGS LAW; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. <br /> Motion was made by Councilwoman Cline to adopt Ordinance No. <br /> 1244 as read by the City Attorney. Council considered a request by Dan Tarpey of 620 South Lobit, <br /> to make a trailer van a part of a permanent structure at this <br /> address. Attached to these minutes are memos concerning this <br /> request from Planning and Zoning and Code Enforcement. Council <br /> discussed this structure at length. Cline stated she felt <br />. the only way to clean this matter up was to grant the variance <br /> and require the builder to comply with all City codes. <br />
