Council considered L. H. "Sonny" McKey as the representative <br />from the City of La Porte to serve as director of the South <br />East Texas Housing Finance Corporation and A. Lou Lawler to <br />serve as his alternate. <br /> <br />Council unanimously agreed L. H. "Sonny" McKey would serve <br />as La Porte's member of the Board of Directors, with A. Lou <br />Lawler to serve as alternate. <br /> <br />17. City Attorney Askins read Ordinance No. 1281: AN ORDINANCE <br />AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION BY THE CITY OF LA PORTE OF AN <br />INDUSTRIAL DISTRICT AGREEMENT WITH ROHM AND HAAS BAYPORT, <br />INC., WITHIN THE BAYPORT INDUSTRIAL DISTRICT FOR THE TERM <br />COMMENCING MAY 27, 1981 AND ENDING DECEMBER 31, 1986. <br /> <br />A motion was made by Councilperson Kibodeaux to pass and ap- <br />prove Ordinance No. 1281 as read. Seconded by Councilperson <br />Malone. The motion carried, 9 ayes and 0 nays. <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Malone, Longley, Faris, Kibodeaux, <br />Simons, Gay, Skelton, Westergren and Mayor Meza <br />Nays: None <br /> <br />18. Council considered the recommendation by Jerry Hodge, Director <br />of Public Works, concerning repairs to Farrington Boulevard. <br /> <br />Councilperson Faris made a motion to accept Hodge's recom- <br />mendationand authorize City forces to begin the necessary <br />repairs, including repairing the damaged storm drains, on <br />Farrington Boulevard. Seconded by Councilperson Longley. <br />The motion carried, 9 ayes and 0 nays. <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Malone, Longley, Faris, Kibodeaux, <br />Simons, Gay, Skelton, Westergren and Mayor Meza <br />Nays: None <br /> <br />Hudgens stated funds for this project were appropriated from <br />the 1979-80 Budget and carried over into the current year. <br />Hudgens further stated the City force should have no problem <br />doing this job and keeping up with other work needing to be <br />done in the City. <br />
