City Attorney Askins read: A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING SKYJACK <br />CAB COMPANY TO OPERATE CERTAIN OF ITS TAXICABS. WITHIN THE <br />CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE, STRICTLY FOR THE <br />PURPOSE OF CARRYING PASSENGERS FOR HIRE UNDER CONTRACT WITH <br />THE VETERANS ADMINISTRATION <br />A motion was made by Councilperson Simons to approve Resolution <br />No. 82-2 as read by the City Attorney. Seconded by Council- <br />person Longley. The motion carried, 8 ayes and 0 nays. <br />• Ayes: Councilpersons Malone, Longley, Faris, Simons, Gay, <br />Skelton, Westergren and Mayor Meza <br />Nays: None <br />7. Council considered the recommendation of Park Director Sherwood <br />concerning bids received on December 14, 1981, for one (1) <br />1982 Z-ton pick-up truck. Bids were received. as follows: <br />Joe Camp Ford $8,010.37 <br />Jay Marks Chevrolet 8,149.10 <br />Timmers Chevrolet 8,259.84 <br />Sherwood stated the vehicle bid by Joe Camp Ford meets the <br />bid specifications and it was Sherwood's recommendation that <br />the bid be awarded to Joe Camp Ford, Tnc., in the amount of <br />$8,010.37. <br />A motion was made by Councilperson Westergren that the bid be <br />awarded to Joe Camp Ford, Inc., in the amount of 8,010.37 for <br />one 1) 2-ton pick-up truck. ,Seconded y Counci person Malone. <br />The motion carried, 8 ayes and 0 nays. <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Malone, Longley, Faris, Simons, Gay, <br />• Skelton, Westergren and Mayor Meza <br />Nays: None <br />
