• <br /> <br />• Minutes, Regular Meeting, La Porte City Council <br />October 6, 1982, Page 2 <br />Dave Corbin of Busch, Hutchison, advised Council the bids <br />would be tabulated and a recommendation presented for Council <br />consideration at the October 20 Council meeting. <br />6. b1r. Ebarb was not present. <br />Councilperson Malone was seated at the Council table at <br />7:20 P.M. <br />7. Mark Schiavone, General Manager of the La Porte office for <br />Kip-Lee Cable Television, Inc., spoke to the Council con- <br />cerning five new programming services being added to the <br />basic package: Cable channels 14, 15, 19, 28 and 29. He <br />answered questions about service and gave the Council a new <br />service number for the La Porte area - 470-2663. Schiavone <br />asked Council to approve realignment of local VHF channels <br />2, 8, 11 and 13 to place them on 4, 11, 5 and 10, respectively, <br />in order to improve reception on these channels. <br />A motion was made by Councilperson Graves to authorize re- <br />• alignment of local VHF channels 2, 8, 11 and 13 and place <br />them on 4, 11, 5 and 10, respectively, .there y waiving <br />Section 13, Paragraph H, of Ordinance 1175 of t e City of <br />La Porte in order to improve t e reception on t ese signifi- <br />cantly viewed local stations. Second y Counci person Malone. <br />The motion carried, 7 ayes and 0 nays. <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Malone, Longley, Matuszak, Graves, <br />Pfeiffer, Gay and Mayor Cline <br />Nays; None <br />8. Council considered three (3) different group insurance plans <br />submitted by Ken Strum Insurance Agency, Inc., to be carried <br />by Business Men's Assurance. After reviewing all plans as <br />presented, a motion was made by Councilperson Matuszak to <br />purchase plan III with a prior-needs clause and a 30-day <br />waiting period for all new employees. Second by Councilperson <br />Pfeiffer. The motion carried, 7 ayes and 0 nays. <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Malone, Longley, Matuszak, Graves, <br />Pfeiffer, Gay and Mayor Cline <br />Nays: None <br />• <br />
