Richard Pearsall Abst. #625 - Mattie Kimbell Carter <br />be rescheduled for a public hearing November 17, 1982, at <br />7:00 P.M. <br /> <br />paulissen further reported items <br />1. Outlot 250, West 100 ft. - E. D. Wiggle <br />m. Part Tract #44 - E. Brinson Survey - Carroll A. Lewis <br />are down and recommended the ordinance be pulled. <br /> <br />Mrs. W. B. Henderson of Ft. Worth appeared before Council to <br />request at least 6 weeks or maybe 8 weeks before any action <br />is taken to remove the building on Lot 5, Block 2. The <br />Inspection Department reported it would be about that long <br />before they could get to it if they put it at the end of the <br />list. This met with Council approval. <br /> <br />Mr. George Merritt requested additional time to remove the <br />building at Lot 20-21, Block 26, since he was late receiving <br />his notice. He had not changed the property into his name <br />and the former owner had received his notice. Council agreed <br />to work with him but recommended he proceed at once. <br /> <br />There being no other request to be heard, the public hearing <br />was closed. <br /> <br />5. Council considered the minutes of the Regular Meeting of the <br />La Porte City Council held October 6, 1982. A motion was <br />made by Councilperson Pfeiffer to approve and accept the <br />minutes as presented., Second by Councilperson Westergren. <br />The motion carried, 9 ayes and 0 nays. <br /> <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Malone, Longley, Matuszak, Graves, <br />pfeiffer, Gay, Skelton, Westergren and Mayor Cline <br />Nays: None <br /> <br />6. The City Manager presented for Council's consideration and <br />approval of an item exceeding the required amount for bids, <br />Christmas decorations for the streets. In order to match <br />last year's purchase, it was recommended that authorization <br />be given to purchase matching street decorations from the . <br />Valley Decorating Company, not to exceed $5,OOOrOO.A motion <br />was made by Councilperson Longley to authorize purchase of a <br />one source item, Christmas decorations for the streets to .. <br />match those purchased last year, from the Valley Decorating <br />Company, not to exceed $5,000.00. Second by CouncilpersQn <br />Graves. The motion carried, 8 ayes and 1 nay. <br />
