• <br />• Minutes, Regular Meeting, La Porte City Council <br />January 5, 1983, Page 4 <br />FURTHER PROHIBITING THE PARKING OF SAID DEFINED VEHICLES ON <br />CERTAIN DESIGNATED PROPERTIES; SAID SECTION FURTHER ALLOWING <br />THE PARKING OF RANCH TRAILERS ON RESIDENTIALLY ZONED LOTS <br />IN EXCESS OF 20,000 SQUARE FEET; AND.AMENDTNG CHAPTER 25, <br />ARTICLE IV, SECTION 25-64, OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE <br />CITY OF 'LA PORTE TO INCLUDE TRUCK TRACTORS, AND RANCH <br />TRAILERS; AND AMENDING CHAPTER 25, ARTICLE V, SECTION 25-80, <br />ET SEQ, OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE; <br />BY ADDING TO THE DEFINITION OF TRUCK TRAFFIC; BY"ADDING <br />DEFINITIONS OF "RANCH TRAILER", "TRUCK TERMINAL", "SHIPPING <br />CONTAINERS",-AND "SHIPPING CONTAINER STORAGE YARDS"; AND <br />BY LIMITING THE LOCATION OF TRUCK TERMINALS; PROVIDING THAT <br />ANY PERSON VIOLATING THE TERMS OF THIS ORDINANCE SHALL BE <br />DEEMED GUILTY OF A MISDEMEANOR AND SHALL-UPON CQNVICTTON BE <br />FINED NOT TO EXCEED TWO HUNDRED DOLLARS ($200.00); CONTAINING <br />SEVERABTLITY AND REPEALING CLAUSES; FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH <br />THE OPEN MEETINGS LAW; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. <br />A motion was made by Councilperson Longley to approve and <br />adopt t~inance as read. Second y Counciiperson Matuszak. <br />• A motion was made by Councilperson Westergren to table action <br />on this ordinance for further work and that it be placed on the <br />January 26 workshop agenda.. Second by Councilperson Graves. <br />The motion carried, 7 ayes and 2 nays. <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Malone, Graves, Pfeiffer, Gay, .Skelton, <br />Westergren and Mayor Cline <br />Nays; Councilpersons Longley .and Matuszak <br />Mayor Cline. referred. the truck ordinance back to Committee <br />and set January 12 at 7;00 P.M. as a town meeting to discuss <br />the proposed ordinance. <br />12. Council considered the recommendation of Public Works Director <br />Hodge concerning the award of a bid for b©oster pump and. motor <br />check valve for Water Well #3. Three bids were received, low <br />bid was received from Pump and Power Equipment Company in the <br />amount of $4,674.00. This is a budgeted item,. <br />A motion was made by Councilperson Gay to ,award ,the bid to <br />Pump and Power Equipment Co. in t e amount of ,674.00. <br />Second by Councilperson Longley. The motion carried, 9 ayes <br />and 0 nays. <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Malone, Longley, Matuszak, Graves, <br />Pfeiffer, Gay, Skelton, Westergren and Mayor Cline <br />Nays: None <br />
