City Attorney Askins read: AN ORDINANCE VACATING, ABANDONING <br />AND CLOSING ALL OF THE ALLEYS IN BLOCK SEVEN HUNDRED THIRTY- <br />THREE (733) AND SEVEN HUNDRED THIRTY-FOUR (734), IN THE TOWN <br />OF LA PORTE, HARRIS COUNTY, TEXAS <br /> <br />A motion was made by Councilperson Matuszak to table action <br />on the ordinance as read until utility verifications have <br />been made with the proper authorities. Second by Councilperson <br />Longley. The motion carried, 8 ayes and 1 nay. <br /> <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Malone, Longley, Matuszak, Graves, <br />Pfeiffer, Gay, Skelton, and Mayor Cline <br />Nays: Councilperson Westergren <br /> <br />l3. Council considered information concerning Water Well #5 <br />(25th Street). After reviewing the information concerning <br />the need for repairs, Council considered declaring an emergency. <br /> <br />A motion was made by Councilperson Skelton to declare an emer- <br />gency on the 25th Street Water Well, authorize Layne Texas <br />"~T:later Well Company to do the needed repairs, and allocating <br />$12,,000 from the Water and Sewer Contingency to make the <br />repairs. Second by Councilperson Graves.
