<br />( <br /> <br />( <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />~' <br /> <br />Minutes, Regular Meeting, La Porte City Council <br />April 6, 1983, Page 4 <br /> <br />CONSPICUOUSLY PLACED ON ALL SKILL OR PLEASURE ORIENTED COIN <br />OPERATED MACHINES DESIGNATING THE HOURS SAID MACHINES ARE TO <br />BE USED BY MINORS; PROVIDING THAT ANY PERSON VIOLATING THE <br />TERMS OF THIS ORDINANCE SHALL BE DEEMED GUILTY OF A MISDE- <br />MEANOR AND UPON CONVICTION SHALL BE FINED IN ANY SUM NOT MORE <br />THAN TWO HUNDRED DOLLARS ($200.00); CONTAINING A SEVERABILTIY <br />CLAUSE; FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN MEETING LAW; AND <br />PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF <br /> <br />o. <br /> <br />A motion was made by Councilperson Matuszak to approve and <br />adopt Ordinance No. llOOC as read by the City Attorney. <br />Second by Councilperson Malone. The motion carried, 9 ayes <br />and 0 nays. <br /> <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Malone, Longley, Matuszak, Graves, <br />Pfeiffer, Gay, Skelton, Westergren and Mayor Cline <br />Nays: None <br /> <br />City Attorney Askins advised the City Manager the City should <br />proceed to have the required notices prepared and placed on <br />game machines. <br /> <br />Council asked that a future workshop item be to discuss game <br />machine policy for North Side Civic Center. <br /> <br />lS. <br /> <br />Council considered bids received for annual contract on liquid <br />asphalt, emulsions and cut back asphalt. <br /> <br />'. <br /> <br />'~~ motion was made to award the bid to Gulf States, Inc., by <br />Councilperson Skelton. Second by Councilperson Longley. The <br />motion carried, 8 ayes and 0 nays. Councilperson Westergren <br />was temporarily away from the Council table. <br /> <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Malone, Longley, Matuszak, Graves, <br />Pfeiffer, Gay, Skelton and Mayor Cline <br />Nays: None <br /> <br />l6. Council considered a request from purchasing to negotiate a <br />fixed price agreement for crack sealing material. A motion <br />was made by Councilperson Matuszak to permit the Purchasing <br />Department to negotiate with Shepler's, Inc., to execute a <br />formal fixed price agreement for the purchase of crack sealing <br />material. Second by Councilperson Westergren.
