December 19, 1984, Page 9 <br /> Motion was made bv Councilnerson Pfeiffer to amend the' motion <br /> to adont Ordinance 780-GGGG bv insertin~ "with use strictlv <br /> limited to marshallin~ and nrenaration of new automobtles." <br /> Second by Councilperson Skelton. The motion carried, 6 ayes <br /> and 1 nay <br /> Ayes: Councilperson Bridges, Waters, Pfeiffer, Skelton, <br /> Westergren and Malone <br /> Nays: Councilperson Matuszak <br /> Councilperson Bridges stated that she was voting in favor of <br /> this rezoning; however, she would not vote for any more <br /> rezoning requests until the matter of rezoning the businesses <br /> on Spencer Highway had been resolved. <br /> The regular agenda was again addressed at this point. <br /> 14. Council considered renewing a contract with attorney for <br /> collection of delinquent taxes. <br /> Mr. Owen stated that the contract was expiring with Mr. Dexter <br /> Joyner, the Delinquent Tax Collector. He feels that Mr. <br />. Joyner has done an excellent job, and recommends that his <br /> contract be renewed for a period of two years. <br /> Councilperson Matuszak asked for an update on Mr. Joyner's <br /> performance,' and the Director of Administrative Services <br /> reported that since Mr. Joyner had been the delinquent tax <br /> collector, the City had entered into many tax suits and that <br /> the rate of collection had gone from 97 percent to'98 percent. <br /> Motion was made bv Councilnerson Malone to annrove renewin~ <br /> the contract with Dexter Jovner as the citv's Delinauent Tax <br /> Collector. Second by Councilperson Matuszak. The motion <br /> carried, 7 ayes and 0 nays. <br /> Ayes: Councilpersons Bridges, Matuszak, Waters, Pfeiffer, <br /> Skelton, Westergren and Malone <br /> Nays: None <br />. <br />~ ~ <br />
