The meeting reconvened <br />at 6:30 P.M. <br />6. Mrs. Marilyn Broussard was scheduled to address Council, but <br />was unable to be present. <br />7. Council considered adopting a resolution supporting the La <br />Porte-Bayshore Chamber of Commerce. <br />The Mayor called for John Paul Zemanek, Executive <br />Vice-President of the La Porte-Bayshore Chamber of Commerce to <br />come forward. The Mayor read Resolution 85-7. <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Skelton to adopt Resolution <br />85-7 as read by the Mayor. Second by Councilperson Matuszak. <br />The motion carried, 9 ayes and 0 nays. <br />• <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Walker, Lloyd, Matuszak, Waters, <br />Pfeiffer, Gay, Skelton, Westergren and Mayor Malone <br />Nays: None <br />8. The Mayor read the following proclamations: <br />Police Week - Accepted by Chief Herb Freeman and Sammy Jacobs <br />National Public Works Week - Accepted by Jerry Hodge & Steve <br />Gillett <br />La Porte Night at the Astrodome - Accepted by Stan Sherwood <br />Disabled American Veterans Month - Accepted by James Gee and <br />Several members of the DAV <br />9. Council considered an ordinance rezoning Block 10, lots <br />165-166, Spenwick Place. <br />The City Attorney read: ORDINANCE 780-IIII - AN ORDINANCE <br />AMENDING ORDINANCE N0. 780, THE CITY OF LA PORTE ZONING <br />ORDINANCE, BY CHANGING THE CLASSIFICATION OF THAT CERTAIN <br />PARCEL OF LAND HEREIN DESCRIBED; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE <br />DATE HEREOF. <br />/OU_1111 as reaa Qv Lne city Attornev.
