Council considered an ordinance establishing new sewer rate and sewer fee structure. The City Attorney read: ORDINANCE 1441 - AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 26, ARTICLE II, "WATER, SEWERS AND SEWAGE DISPOSAL," SECTION 26-15, OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE; ESTABLISHING A NEW SEWER RATE AND SEWER FEE STRUCTURE; CONTAINING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN MEETINGS LAW; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. Motion was made ~ Coun_cilperson Llovd to adopt Ordinance 1441 as read by the Citv Attornev, substituting a c~ of 10,000 gallons for 15,OOO,~allons where it appears in the ordinance. Council considered awarding a bid for annual mowing contract. The City Manager reported that the low bidder meeting specs was Steve Echols, and that staff recommendation is that the bid be awarded to him. Motion was made by Councilperson Westergren that the annual mowing contract bid be awarded to Steve Echols. Second by Councilperson Waters. The motion carried, 9 ayes and 0 nays.
