<br />Minutes, Public Hearings and Regular Meeting <br />La Porte City Council <br />August 10, 1987, Page 7 <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Lloyd, Matuszak, Porter, Shipp, Gay, <br />Skelton, Clarke and Mayor Malone <br />Nays: None <br />13. Council considered awarding a contract for a golf <br />cart/pedestrian tunnel. <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Skelton to award the bid for <br />the golf cart/pedestrian tunnel to Allgood Construction <br />Company in the amount of $120,188 ~9~ with the understanding <br />that if the adjusted base bid can be met the amount will be <br />$104,022.9. Second by Councilperson Porter. The motion <br />carried, 8 ayes and 0 nays. <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Lloyd, Matuszak, Porter, Shipp, Gay, <br />Skelton, Clarke and Mayor Malone <br />Nays: None <br />14. Council considered awarding a bid for demolition of dangerous <br />buildings. <br />Motion was made b Y Councilperson Shinn to award the <br />demolition bid to Walker's Dump Trucker Inc } in the amount of <br />x.5050.00. Second by Councilperson Clarke. The motion <br />carried, 8 ayes and 0 nays. <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Lloyd, Matuszak, Porter, Shipp, Gay, <br />Skelton, Clarke and Mayor Malone <br />Nays: None <br />15. Administrative Reports: <br />A. Replacement of radios and emergency lights for patrol <br />units. <br />Police Chief Charles Smith addressed this item. The Police <br />Department is in need of funding in the amount of $49,050.00 <br />in order to replace obsolete radios and emergency lights on <br />patrol units. This would include purchase of ten (10 <br />Motorola 8 channel Syntors at $2,800 each and conversion of <br />seven (7) 4 channel Motorola Syntors at $900 each, and <br />purchase of ten (10) "Edge" 9000 (or equivalent) light bars <br />at $1,375 each and five (5) siren units at $200 each. <br />
