<br />e <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />Minutes, Public Hearings and Regular Meeting <br />La Porte City Council <br />August 14, 1989, Page 3 <br /> <br />At this time, Council adjourned into Executive Session to <br />discuss the following: Legal meet with attorney(s) <br />regarding Houston Chemical Services, Inc. /Southern Ionics, <br />Inc.; Personnel - Discuss appointments to various commissions <br />and Boards. Council went into the Session at 6:50 P.M. and <br />returned to the Council table at 7:45 P.M. The regular order <br />of business then resumed. <br /> <br />7. Council considered an ordinance rezoning Outlot 370 and the <br />western portion of Outlot 369, La Porte Outlots, from General <br />Commercial to Light Industrial. <br /> <br />The City Attorney read: ORDINANCE 1501-k - AN ORDINANCE <br />AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 1501, BY CHANGING CLASSIFICATION OF <br />THAT ASCERTAIN PARCEL OF LAND HEREIN DESCRIBED; AND PROVIDING <br />AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. <br /> <br />Motion was made bY Counciloerson Waters to deny oassaqe of <br />Ordinance 1501-K. Second by Councilperson Matuszak. The <br />motion carried, 7 ayes and 1 nay. <br /> <br />Nays: <br /> <br />Councilpersons Waters, Cooper, Matuszak, McLaughlin, <br />Skelton, Clarke and Mayor Malone <br />councilperson Gay <br /> <br />Ayes: <br /> <br />8. Council considered approving a Special Conditional Use permit <br />to allow development of recycling center/salvage yard on 1.32 <br />acres of an 18.7766 acre tract of the Enoch Brinson Survey, <br />Abstract 5. <br /> <br />Motion was made bY Counciloerson Waters to deny the Soecial <br />Conditional Use oermit. Second by Councilperson Cooper. The <br />motion carried, 7 ayes and 1 nay. <br /> <br />Nays: <br /> <br />councilpersons Waters, Cooper, Matuszak, McLaughlin, <br />Skelton, Clarke and Mayor Malone <br />Councilperson Gay <br /> <br />Ayes: <br /> <br />9. Council considered an ordinance appointing members to position <br />6 and the Mayor's Representative of the Fire Code Review <br />Committee. <br /> <br />The City Attorney read: ORDINANCE 1654-A - AN ORDINANCE <br />AMENDING ORDINANCE 1654, APPOINTING MEMBERS TO POSITION 6 AND <br />MAYOR'S REPRESENTATIVE, OF THE FIRE CODE REVIEW COMMITTEE; <br />PROVIDING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; REPEALING ALL CITY OF LA <br />PORTE ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH <br />THE OPEN MEETINGS LAW; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. <br />
