Council considered an ordinance approving sale and conveyance of a certain parcel of real property by the City of La Porte. The City Attorney read: ORDINANCE 1696 - AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE BID OF CHARLES BERDON LAWRENCE, FOR THE SALE AND CONVEYANCE OF A CERTAIN PARCEL OF REAL PROPERTY OWNED BY THE CITY OF LA PORTE; MAKING CERTAIN FINDINGS OF FACT; AUTHORIZING THE MAY TO EXECUTE A SPECIAL WARRANTY DEED FROM THE CITY OF LA PORTE TO CHARLES BERDON LAWRENCE; FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN MEETINGS LAW; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. Motion was made bv Councilperson Skelton to adopt Ordinance 1696 as read by the City Attornev. Second by Councilperson Porter. The motion carried, 9 ayes and 0 nays. Nays: Councilpersons Waters, Cooper, Matuszak, McLaughlin, Porter, Gay, Skelton, Clarke and Mayor Malone None Ayes: 12. Council considered a consent agenda, as follows: (A) Consider awarding a bid for a cargo van; (B) Consider awarding a bid for pick up trucks. Motion was made bv Councilperson Waters to approve the consent agenda as ~resented. Second by Councilperson Cooper. The motion carried, 9 ayes and 0 nays. Ayes: Councilpersons Waters, Cooper, Matuszak, McLaughlin, Porter, Gay, Skelton, Clarke and Mayor Malone None Nays: 13. Administrative Reports: A. Report from City Manager regarding request for utility service outside city limits - recommendation from the Assistant City Manager that this be delayed, as all necessary information had not been received. B. Leadership Conference on April 26, 1990 - Rob Mosbacher will be the speaker at the conference and plans are going well. Tickets for the luncheon for Councilpersons' spouse have been distributed.
