Minutes, Regular Meeting, La Porte City Council <br />June 10, 1991, Page 4 <br />17. Administrative Reports <br />A. Steve Gillett reported to Council a proposed change in <br />the heavy trash cycle pickup schedule as a result of <br />recycling. This would only take away two days per year <br />for each zone. <br />B. Mr. Herrera announced a meeting to be held at the Kyle <br />Chapman office of Commissioner Jim Fonteno on June 11. <br />This is to discuss the possible realigning of County <br />Commissioners precinct lines. <br />C. A report was given on the status of Spencer Highway <br />improvements/PASS program. <br />18. Councilpersons Cooper, McLaughlin, Porter, Gay, Skelton, <br />Clarke and Mayor Malone brought items to Council's attention. <br />19. Council adjourned into executive session at 7:38 P.M. to <br />address the following items: (A) Receive report from City <br />Manager regarding hotel; (B) Discuss possible land acquisition <br />for park purposes; (C) Discuss appointments to various Boards <br />and Commissions. Council returned to the table at 9:28 P.M., <br />having taken no action during the executive session, and <br />addressed the following agenda items. <br />10. Council considered an ordinance appointing a Mayor Pro Tem. <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Clarke to appoint Bob <br />McLaughlin as Mayor Pro Tem and adopt Ordinance 1758 as <br />presented. Second by Councilperson Skelton. The motion <br />carried, 9 ayes and 0 nays. <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Sutherland, Cooper, Thrower, <br />McLaughlin, Porter, Gay, Skelton, Clarke and Mayor <br />Malone <br />Nays: None <br />11. Council considered an ordinance appointing members to the La <br />Porte Planning and Zoning Commission. <br />presented. Second by Councilperson Thrower. The motion <br />carried, 9 ayes and 0 nays. <br />
