Motion was made by Councilperson Skelton to adopt Ordinance 1810 as read by the City Attornev. Second by Councilperson Clarke. The motion carried, 8 ayes and 0 nays. Ayes: Councilpersons Sutherland, Cooper, Thrower, McLaughlin, Gay, Skelton, Clarke and Mayor Malone Nays: None 12. Council considered an ordinance authorizing execution by the City of La Porte of an Industrial District Agreement with Chusei (U.S.A.), Inc., within the Bayport Industrial District. The City Attorney read: ORDINANCE 1811 - AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION BY THE CITY OF LA PORTE OF AN INDUSTRIAL DISTRICT AGREEMENT WITH CHUSEI (U.S.A.) INC., WITHIN THE BAYPORT INDUSTRIAL DISTRICT FOR THE TERM COMMENCING JANUARY 1, 1987, AND ENDING DECEMBER 31, 1993. Motion was made by Councilperson Clarke to adopt Ordinance 1811 as read by the City Attornev. Second by Councilperson Thrower. The motion carried, 8 ayes and 0 nays. Ayes: Councilpersons Sutherland, Cooper, Thrower, McLaughlin, Gay, Skelton, Clarke and Mayor Malone Nays: None 13. Council considered an ordinance closing the alley in Block 654, Lots 17-32, Town of La Porte. This is a request from Anthony Crane. Several provisions need to be met before a certified copy of the ordinance is delivered: (1) Applicant must furnish to the City a hold harmless letter by an official of Anthony Crane Rental of Texas, Inc.; (2) Evidence of title from adjacent owners which have given consent to the closure; (3) Evidence of title from Anthony Crane Rental of Texas, Inc., showing ownership of Lots 17 through 32, Block 654, Town of La Porte; (4) A cashier's check for $9,000.00 payable to the City of La Porte. The City Attorney read: ORDINANCE 1812 - AN ORDINANCE VACATING, ABANDONING AND CLOSING A PORTION OF NORTH 17TH STREET, IN THE TOWN OF LA PORTE, HARRIS COUNTY, TEXAS; FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN MEETINGS LAW; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF.
