• <br />• <br />Minutes, Regular Meeting, La Porte City Council <br />February 10, 1992, Page 3 <br />The City Attorney read: ORDINANCE 1810 - AN ORDINANCE <br />APPOINTING A MEMBER TO THE SOUTHEAST TEXAS HOUSING FINANCE <br />CORPORATION BOARD OF DIRECTORS; CONTAINING A REPEALING CLAUSE; <br />FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN MEETINGS LAW; AND PROVIDING <br />AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Skelton to adopt Ordinance <br />1810 as read by the City Attornev. Second by Councilperson <br />Clarke. The motion carried, 8 ayes and 0 nays. <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Sutherland, Cooper, Thrower, <br />McLaughlin, Gay, Skelton, Clarke and Mayor Malone <br />Nays: None <br />12. Council considered an ordinance authorizing execution by the <br />City of La Porte of an Industrial District Agreement with <br />Chusei (U.S.A.), Inc., within the Bayport Industrial District. <br />The City Attorney read: ORDINANCE 1811 - AN ORDINANCE <br />AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION BY THE CITY OF LA PORTE OF AN <br />INDUSTRIAL DISTRICT AGREEMENT WITH CHUSEI (U.S.A.) INC., <br />WITHIN THE BAYPORT INDUSTRIAL DISTRICT FOR THE TERM COMMENCING <br />JANUARY 1, 1987, AND ENDING DECEMBER 31, 1993. <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Clarke to adopt Ordinance <br />1811 as read by the City Attornev. Second by Councilperson <br />Thrower. The motion carried, 8 ayes and 0 nays. <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Sutherland, Cooper, Thrower, <br />McLaughlin, Gay, Skelton, Clarke and Mayor Malone <br />Nays: None <br />13. Council considered an ordinance closing the alley in Block <br />654, Lots 17-32, Town of La Porte. <br />This is a request from Anthony Crane. Several provisions need <br />to be met before a certified copy of the ordinance is <br />delivered: (1) Applicant must furnish to the City a hold <br />harmless letter by an official of Anthony Crane Rental of <br />Texas, Inc.; (2) Evidence of title from adjacent owners which <br />have given consent to the closure; (3) Evidence of title from <br />Anthony Crane Rental of Texas, Inc., showing ownership of Lots <br />17 through 32, Block 654, Town of La Porte; (4) A cashier's <br />check for $9,000.00 payable to the City of La Porte. <br />The City Attorney read: ORDINANCE 1812 - AN ORDINANCE <br />VACATING, ABANDONING AND CLOSING A PORTION OF NORTH 17TH <br />STREET, IN THE TOWN OF LA PORTE, HARRIS COUNTY, TEXAS; FINDING <br />COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN MEETINGS LAW; AND PROVIDING AN <br />EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. <br />
