The City Manager informed Council that approval for a <br />State Historical Marker for the City of La Porte has been <br />received. As soon as funds to cover the cost are <br />received by the Texas Historical Commission, work will <br />begin on the wording to be used on the marker. <br />19. Council Action: Councilpersons Sutherland, Cooper, Thrower, <br />McLaughlin, Gay, Skelton, Clarke and Mayor Malone brought <br />items to Council's attention. <br />20. Council adjourned into executive session at 7:26 P.M. to <br />discuss the following under V.A.T.S. - Article 6252-17, <br />Section 2(G) - (Personnel): Discuss appointments to boards <br />and commissions. Council returned to the table at 7:53 P.M., <br />with no action being taken in executive session. <br />Item 10 was then addressed. The Council did not see fit at <br />this time to fill the' unexpired term on the Board of <br />Adjustment, and instructed the City Secretary that the <br />alternates were to be notified for each meeting of the Board <br />in order to insure a quorum. <br />21.
