Minutes, Public Hearings and Regular Meeting <br />La Porte City Council <br />February 22, 1993, Page 4 <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Cooper and Maxwell <br />Nays: Councilpersons Sutherland, Thrower, McLaughlin, <br />Porter, Gay, Clarke and Mayor Malone <br />10. Council considered an ordinance approving and authorizing a <br />contract between the City of La Porte and Pas -Key Construction <br />Service, Inc., for construction of Farrington Boulevard water <br />line. <br />The City Attorney read: ORDINANCE 93-1889 - AN ORDINANCE <br />APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING A CONTRACT BETWEEN THE CITY OF LA <br />PORTE AND PAS -KEY CONSTRUCTION SERVICE, INC., FOR CONSTRUCTION <br />OF FARRINGTON BOULEVARD WATER LINE; APPROPRIATING $172,919.96 <br />PLUS A CONTINGENCY OF $27, 080.04 TO FUND SAID CONTRACT; MAKING <br />VARIOUS FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATING TO THE SUBJECT; <br />FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN MEETINGS LAW; AND PROVIDING <br />AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Thrower to adopt Ordinance <br />93-1889 as read by the City Attorney. Second by Councilperson <br />Clarke. The motion carried, 9 ayes and 0 nays. <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Sutherland, Cooper, Thrower, <br />McLaughlin, Porter, Gay, Maxwell, Clarke and Mayor <br />Malone <br />Nays: None <br />11. Council considered an ordinance adopting a schedule of minimum <br />fines for traffic violations for the City of La Porte <br />Municipal Court. <br />The City Attorney read: ORDINANCE 93-1890 - AN ORDINANCE <br />ADOPTING A SCHEDULE OF MINIMUM FINES FOR TRAFFIC VIOLATIONS <br />FOR THE CITY OF LA PORTE MUNICIPAL COURT; AUTHORIZING THE <br />PRINTING OF SUCH SCHEDULE OF MINIMUM FINES ON THE REVERSE OF <br />THE VIOLATOR'S COPY OF TRAFFIC CITATIONS; PROVIDING A <br />SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN MEETINGS <br />ACT; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Clarke to adopt Ordinance 93- <br />1890 as read by the City Attorney. Second by Councilperson <br />McLaughlin.
