Council considered an ordinance approving and authorizing a contract between the City of La Porte and Pas -Key Construction Service, Inc., for construction of Farrington Boulevard water line. The City Attorney read: ORDINANCE 93-1889 - AN ORDINANCE APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING A CONTRACT BETWEEN THE CITY OF LA PORTE AND PAS -KEY CONSTRUCTION SERVICE, INC., FOR CONSTRUCTION OF FARRINGTON BOULEVARD WATER LINE; APPROPRIATING $172,919.96 PLUS A CONTINGENCY OF $27, 080.04 TO FUND SAID CONTRACT; MAKING VARIOUS FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATING TO THE SUBJECT; FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN MEETINGS LAW; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. Motion was made by Councilperson Thrower to adopt Ordinance 93-1889 as read by the City Attorney. Second by Councilperson Clarke. The motion carried, 9 ayes and 0 nays. Ayes: Councilpersons Sutherland, Cooper, Thrower, McLaughlin, Porter, Gay, Maxwell, Clarke and Mayor Malone Nays: None 11. Council considered an ordinance adopting a schedule of minimum fines for traffic violations for the City of La Porte Municipal Court. The City Attorney read: ORDINANCE 93-1890 - AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING A SCHEDULE OF MINIMUM FINES FOR TRAFFIC VIOLATIONS FOR THE CITY OF LA PORTE MUNICIPAL COURT; AUTHORIZING THE PRINTING OF SUCH SCHEDULE OF MINIMUM FINES ON THE REVERSE OF THE VIOLATOR'S COPY OF TRAFFIC CITATIONS; PROVIDING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN MEETINGS ACT; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. Motion was made by Councilperson Clarke to adopt Ordinance 93- 1890 as read by the City Attorney. Second by Councilperson McLaughlin. The motion carried, 9 ayes and 0 nays.
