<br />e <br /> <br />e <br /> <br /> <br />Minutes Public Hearing and Regular <br />Meeting La Porte city Council <br />September 12, 1994, Page 2 <br /> <br />plaque denoting Neighborhood Centers appreciation of city of <br />La Porte's support for their Environmental Education Project. <br /> <br />5. Mayor Malone deferred the proclamation for Officer Matthew <br />"Matt" Deaumer until a future meeting. The Mayor proclaimed <br />the week of September 17th through 23rd as "Constitution Week" <br />in the City of La Porte. Receiving the proclamation was a <br />Representative of the Jane Long Chapter of the Daughters of <br />the American Revolution Marie Russell. <br /> <br />6. There were three citizens wishing to address Council. <br /> <br />Elaine Moore, 11722 Bear Street, representing residents from <br />Monument Estates subdivision. She thanked Councilperson <br />Sutherland for attending their neighborhood meeting August 9th <br />and for his support and guidance for helping address their <br />concerns to the proper persons. The concerns were for the 30 <br />miles per hour speed limits set on their neighborhood streets. <br />They would like to change those limits to 20 miles per hour on <br />the side streets. The second concern addressed the <br />underground drainage system. She stated that teenagers are <br />removing the covers to these drainage systems and causing <br />neighborhood concern for the safety of their children. <br /> <br />Helen McFerren, 925 Oak Grove, spoke to Council and Staff <br />regarding the proposed park project on the Beasley Property, <br />further described as Seabreeze sailing Club. She stated she <br />has turned in several names of area citizens to be placed on <br />any committee which might be formed to decide the manner of <br />use for this property. She relinquished her remaining time to <br />Brenda Knapp. Ms. Knapp also voiced her concerns for <br />developing a park in their neighborhood and stated, "The city <br />is rich in parks but very poor in other retail areas." <br /> <br />Mr. Lynn Green, 10131 Quiet Hill Road, spoke in support of <br />raising the green fee rates at La Porte Bay Forest Golf <br />Course. He stated, "It is one of the best kept courses <br />around." He explained, "I would like to see our debt at that <br />course knocked down sooner by raising the rates." <br /> <br />7. Mayor Malone opened Public Hearing - A at 6:23 P.M. <br /> <br />Public Hearing A - To consider amendments to the city of La <br />Porte Zoning Ordinance 1501; Article III, section 3-100, <br />"Definitions"; Article V, section 5-600, "Table A- <br />Residential"; Article VI, section 6-400, "Table A-Commercial" , <br />section 6-500 "Table B-Commercial", Section 6-501 "Footnotes", <br />section 6-600 "special Use Performance Standards", and Article <br />X, section 10-300, "Accessory Buildings, Uses and Equipment", <br />
